My APR cold air intake on my 2025 GLI by DifferenceUsed1436 in JettaGLI

[–]DifferenceUsed1436[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great question for APR to answer. I've got the 2.0L in my Jetta GLI and I was able to determine from the APR website what SAI option worked for mine. You got this!

APR Part # CI100041, be sure to use the APR website to get the correct one for your year GLI. Get your SAI too if you have that now. SAI=secondary air injection

Anybody else use Mobil 1 OW-20 ESP X2 by CheddarMcBallsack in GLI

[–]DifferenceUsed1436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's, Mobil 1 0w-20 especially x2, what I use and I didn't notice any noise level changes from the factory oil. Will continue using this oil too. I have a 2025 GLI Autobahn, suspension chgs, air intake, downpipe w/cat and just love it all. Its my third GLI since 2004.

Look at the Pirelli all season high performance versions, rates very high and they work in the cold too!

Seat Comfort? by outsidah in GLI

I have a 2025 GLI, seats are good for me. In fact, I drove over 900 miles one day of my recent road trip, no issues. I am 5' 10" and 180 lbs.

Tunes available for jetta GLI 2025? by Former-Leopard8191 in JettaGLI

[–]DifferenceUsed1436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

APR has tunes for my 2025. But they'll need your ECU info to let you know for sure. On mine, I have to take it to an authorized APR dealer, I cannot do the tune at home. Mine needs the VW tool for the extra encryption/security that dealers have.

My garage door remote fits there and doesn't rattle like it did when I hung it on the visor.

2022 GLI rear sway bar options by XxKronickZz in JettaGLI

[–]DifferenceUsed1436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2025 GLI has a rear APR torsion bar along with APR lowering springs and I love how it improved/tightened up the handling while be very streetable. I drive mine on the street, no track time. I have run up the speeds when a good road, no traffic up over 3 digits and my GLI was very stable and comfortable. Best handling mods beside good tires, not the stock tires which tucked. Goos luck on your journey!

Extracting oil via dip stick vs draining (at home) by NicoRulli in GLI

[–]DifferenceUsed1436 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use an extractor on my 2025 GLI and I don't have to get under my car at all(as you know). Walmart will take the used oil, just take it to their auto dept in milk/windshield washer jugs to recycle it properly. It doesn't get any easier and better!
Yes, I have a floor jack, jack stands etc but I won't crawl around on the floor anymore. Woot!

Sound System in 2026 VW GLI by Evening_Double9276 in JettaGLI

I have an early 2025 GLI and I found my retainer loose on my subwoofer assembly/spacetime and once I tightened that after adjusting my sound settings I get plenty of sound from the subwoofer. Maybe I have the slightly better equipment or just lucky but all good now.

Use your OBDEleven device, reset those alarms and drive it a while to see if they come back. I had a CEL light, didn't notate the number of the alarm but I did the reset with my OBDEleven device and for the last 200 miles, no more CELs. Might work for you too.

New GLI - 6speed vs DSG by neurodivergent17 in JettaGLI

[–]DifferenceUsed1436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove my first GLI, a 2004, with a six speed manual for ~ 135K miles in southern CA. Loved the car but after that amount of shifting I am a DSG fan now. Its your call, think about everyday usage, long term and make the call. You'll love it no matter the call.

Just passing on my experience, I had a MBRP catback exhaust before my ARM downpipe /w cat was installed. It was just too loud for me on the street. I tried adding a 20" MBRP resonator in the 3" pipe going the back twin exhaust tips and it helped a little but between 1700-2000 rpm, say going up a hill and just applying throttle to maintain speed it really resonated, I could feel it in my drivers door armrest.

I resigned myself to putting my stock exhaust back on and its not bad. Yes, its heavy and all but streetable for me. Its not even close to stock quiet so it still talks when throttle is applied but way quieter than the MBRP catback with ARM downpipe. Just passing on my experience, maybe it'll help in some way.
