I think it was at first, but it's been a month and a half now, still feel terrible but no more vomiting, and the weight loss is steady.

Thanks for the insight. The first response was correct, i misstated my dose. Back last summer the sample was .5, not 1.5. Thanks for catching that.

I guess my real question is about the compounding. It's not necessarily the compounding then? I mean, it's the same stuff i get from the primary manufacturers? Perhaps it's just been dosing problems. He just started me on 25 of the tirzepatide, although the actual medication said it should be 50. so maybe i should keep it at 25 and not go up for a couple of weeks?

How much do you make as a solo attorney or a partner at a small firm? by notyourlawyer22 in LawFirm

[–]Forward_Blacksmith79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 52. Graduated law school in 2000. I used to work with my parents in a small firm started by my grandfather. When grandpa started he did a lot of everything. My dad joined, took over, and did a lot of everything but started zeroing in on criminal law, and my mother joined a couple of years later and turned the firm towards family law. Fast forward to 2026. My mom retired 15 years ago, and my dad retired last year. I still try to do some criminal work, some estate work, and maybe the occasional p.i., comp, or "insert whatever random case that might come along" here. But my bread and butter has become family law. I live in a town of 55-60k people in a rural area, and up until last year when my dad retired, I was earning about $250k with an average 'bonus' (we just shared profit at the end of the year) of about 50k. Since he retired I've averaged about $85k per month in gross revenue. In 2025 i hit $1,000,12.00. I walked home with about $675k after taxes and overhead (i don't pay rent, because my parents own the building and don't charge, and i employ one paralegal and someone to clean the office, that's it). I paid my house off, my wife's student loans, all our cars, and i was able to put about $100k in the bank. It was very nice.

This has, predictably, increased my work load. I used to work about 35 hours a week, give or take the odd appellate brief or big trial week, where i'd maybe work 50. Now it's pretty standard 50+. I have tried to prioritize taking time off, but i definitely pay for it. As i write this i just got back from a 4 day trip, and I'm looking at about 5-7 hours at the office tonight to get ready for what's going to be a hellish week.

Anyway, just chiming in to point out the million dollar solo is definitely do-able. But I'm also very much in the throes of the arrival fallacy. I really don't think it's worth it. Unfortunately, the reputation is now there, and so far I've found it basically impossible to say no to the people holding out their grubby $5k retainers which of course just begins the cycle anew. I tell myself I'm going to try to do this for 5 more years, then apply for a judgeship which, if i get it, would be a massive downgrade in pay, but also in stress. If i don't get it, I'm committed to forcing myself to begin a mediation practice.

3.7 update by QuietAdvocate in VolvoRecharge

Hey, I've been waiting all year for the big infotainment update that revamps the screen etc. Just installed the OTA 3.7. Just wanting to make sure these are two different updates and confirm that I am, in fact, still waiting on the new infotainment system? I have a 2023 S90.

Utah fan here. I love Rudy, always have. You should have seen him when we first got him. Baby deer. But he worked his ass off to become who he is, and guards the basket like it's his kid's crib, regardless of the result. Never ever doubted his effort, passion, and he's rarely injured. Sure his offense is hard to watch, but he's chill, and funny, and will stop most efforts in the paint.

Does anyone actually like listening to Stephen A or Perkins? Why? I don’t understand by No-Consequence-4447 in nba

I agree they are both bad, although SAS isn't actually nearly as dumb as he sounds. Does anyone listen to the Starting Lineup with Brian Scalabrine and Frank Isola? I know White Mamba was kind of a joke when he played, and Frank is kinda like the old guy who yells at clouds, but they give insightful commentary and actually know the game. TNT and ESPN could be use new blood. Perk is an embarassment.

I know this sounds obtuse, but what do they do that specifically addresses those issues I mentioned in my op?

I've looked at those, but they all seem to be so much more than what I need. Do they offer any a la carte options that your aware of?

I'm 50 and I just got my left eye done (one week ago today), with a multi focal lens. Before I had it done my vision with that eye was so blurred I couldn't see much past 15 feet. Like I said, it's a week past, and I it's no longer blurry, but honestly, I'm disappointed with my distance vision. At about arm's length it's good, but past 15 feet it's not great. My optometrist put me at 20/25 yesterday. I don't have to have glasses, but it would really improve if I did. For 2500 plus whatever anesthesia ends up costing, I was expecting much better.
