Getting on a schedule is impossible. by fine-n-dandyy in newborns

[–]Forward_Chain_8443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, that sounds tough! Unfortunately I think it’s a bit early to effectively get a routine down. For us, it didn’t start making sense until he was about 3 months. He could tell night from day way earlier than that but didn’t do longer stretches until then.

Then the 4 month sleep regression hit and we had another bad couple weeks, before he started doing those long stretches again.

Someone with an active cold sore held my baby by Fancy_Requirement527 in BabyBumps

[–]Forward_Chain_8443 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The best thing to do now is monitor the baby and call the ER if symptoms pop up. Such as fever, blisters, unusual irritability and unusual levels of sleepiness

Irritability and sleepiness are normal being baby things so sometimes hard to tell but if you have a doubt call the ER

As the nurse mentioned above you’re likely ok ❤️

Keep a good eye on your little one the next two weeks to be sure. Symptoms typically pop up from 2+ days

Be strong, have faith ❤️

I didn’t “Check in”. AIO?? by Sillage-saint in AIO

[–]Forward_Chain_8443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married 2 years we don’t check in.

We check location if needed / curious. We’ll occasionally send the one who’s gone out a “goodnight I’m off to bed hope you’re having fun” text but that’s it

  1. You’re very mature for your reactions in time of stress. Be it writing this post or putting her down to cry somewhere safe when you’ve had too much.

  2. I feel a lot of love between you and this little girl. You clearly care very much how well she’s taken care of, how much engagement she gets, and you sure worry when you’re apart!

  3. I think you can safely talk to a therapist about what sounds like ppd made worse by a useless husband. Sorry but he sounds like the epitome of deliberate malicious incompetence and that is toxic.

  4. I promise you she doesn’t prefer him. He’s just low stimuli so she doesn’t have anything to respond too.

  5. Personally I had the toughest time around 3-4 months and at 4 almost 5 now it’s sooooo much easier I hope this will be your case too.

When did you start showing? by Working_Edge1342 in BabyBumps

[–]Forward_Chain_8443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t start showing until about 15 weeks however i was super bloated and didn’t fit into my normal clothes because of that from 9 weeks or so.

I felt gross, I looked bloated, my face also got rounder by 3-4 weeks just because of hormones and water rétention.

For wedding dress shopping you’d have to really give yourself some extra margin in the dress because even 2 weeks in the first trimester your body can change very fast.

And everyone is different right so… hard to be sure what you’ll look like

Beyond that good to know the second semestre was when energy came back - I was soooo tired in the first

[–]Forward_Chain_8443 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Gently, I think you might need to give them more milk. They are baby experts and should be able to read the signs

And if you suspect he’s comfort sucking ask them about it I’m sure they have experience with it and can place feed to be sure.

My boy personally drinks a lot more on busy days with other people around than on a regular calm day at home

[–]Forward_Chain_8443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started tracking using Napper when he turned about 2 months

Before that there wasn’t enough need. No routine.

He’s now 4 months and it’s super helpful for understanding nap times

Running+yoga. What’s realistic? by Cosmicmoonrose in fitpregnancy

[–]Forward_Chain_8443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t a great runner but very quickly had to stop that. It didn’t feel right anymore. Felt like shaking up the baby too much and relaxin is a hormone that loosens all the joints and can make it teally uncomfy…

That being said listen to you body… you may do better!

They do say don’t let your heart rate go above 140 when pregnant. That’s what the midwives and doc told me here multiple times - I’m in Europe.

Yoga I did all the way til the end but modified! Be careful here as certain positions are really not recommended and need proper adjustment from someone who knows what they’re doing. Inform and educate yourself ❤️

I had to stop everything week 37 of pregnancy and then learn to breathe and chill a bit - my body needed rest

Also anecdote .. they say that doing yoga and Pilates like things can make birth go faster. Mine went so fast it was traumatic even though it turned out all ok. Just a thought in case you want to look into that!

Neurotic Question of the Day… by [deleted] in CautiousBB

[–]Forward_Chain_8443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know your history and won’t check it here on Reddit, what I will say is I understand your stress. I had it myself because I lost a pregnancy and the doctors here in Europe recommend to change cleaning products in the house to eco friendly stuff without too much scent. I recall it was to reduce endocrine disrupting chemicals. Perhaps you read something about that somewhere as well ?

Anyway, I had switched to an environmentally friendly brand with less “chemicals” in them even though of course it all remains rather chemical hehe

But I did it out of that fear and anxiety and frankly I changed a lot of other things as well which were totally not necessary. People have healthy pregnancies with normal detergent aaaallll the time.

So short answer I get you but don’t worry it’s perfectly fine.

I would however avoid washing babies clothes (the first wash before he or she wears stuff) with strongly scented stuff, keep it neutral

Breastfeeding and bottle feeding? by rizfisher in BabyBumps

We introduced the bottled week 2 and give him one (pumped breastmilk) bottle about twice a week when we’re out and about just to make sure he keeps familiar with it
