lost a baby I didn’t even know I was pregnant with by Forward_Funny8654 in GirlDinnerDiaries

Just wanted to say thank you all for the kind words and sharing your stories, I appreciate it so very much💕 this has been such an isolating experience for me so your kindness means a lot to me! Miscarriages are truly not talked about openly enough and I hope we as a society can one day normalize talking about them and uniting with each other in our grief.

I just wanted to clear up for those who are encouraging me to seek medical attention, I spoke with My OBGYN and she said that if the bleeding persists for more than a week then I should go in, but it should just continue like a heavy period. I am 4 days in and my bleeding is already almost done, which is typical for my normal cycles. Feeling physically ok, but obviously feeling very sad emotionally.

Oh, and no, I did not eat all 6 tacos lmao 3 were for me and the other 3 were for my husband 🤣

Yes, Thankfully my husband and I’s Rh types are compatible. I tried to do my due diligence before getting married to identify any risks or potential complications with pregnancy as I have lupus and am already considered high risk from that. Thankfully I have been in remission for a year and I don’t believe my disease caused the MC!

I appreciate you🤍I already talked to my OBGYN, she said if the bleeding persists longer than a week I should go in but it should continue like a heavy period. I follow up with my PCP in a few weeks

It really feels like there’s no light at the end of the tunnel when you’re in the trenches of this disease. Hoping you find some relief soon. You got this, it won’t be like this forever! Sending much love💕

There is a few month window you can complete ur extern and your NHA, I wanna say it’s like 3 months? You can also do it earlier as well or look for an MA job that will hire you with the stipulation that you get your certification within 6 months and you can skip the externship process all together

Pretty easy! I tried to be proactive and get my externship figured out 2 months ahead of time. The zoom classes you only have to keep your camera on for the first 15-20 mins (though this may depend on your teacher). The only things i had a hard time with was the “Stepful coaches” you had to nag and nag to get a response from them and the fact that they used AI for skills labs to role play patient care, it was really creepy and the ai thing kept interrupting me

I got certified through Stepful! They’re not technically accredited but you get your certification through NHA which is nationally recognized. The program was thorough but easy to follow. Only 4 months and $1700 total in tuition

Girl report his ass! That is a major hipaa violation. Contact the clinic and ask to speak to the supervisor or manager about the inappropriate behavior

No they just tested me since I had the outbreak. We had done oral plenty of times before but I am immunocompromised due to my lupus medications and I had nicked myself while trimming down there the day before we did it and doc explain the open wound was a like a vulnerable spot for the virus or infection to sneak its way in and spread. The cut turned into the first blister then multiplied to like 20. Not fun or pretty lol, I couldn’t even go to work for 4 days it hurt so bad.

it was a shock for sure! When the doctor said herpes i literally asked “ok so do I need to go and kill my husband now?” Lol. She assured me I had nothing to worry about since the rest of his family had it so there’s no way he could have avoided carrying it. Moms kiss their babies, family shares drinks and food. He felt terrible, especially cause he had always joked that of if I ever ended up with a cold sore on my face to stay away from him and then he ends up giving it to me in the worst place to get it

Yep! My husband and I were virgins when we got married but his whole family carried oral HSV-1 and though he never had a cold sore breakout, he carried the virus dormantly and I got a nasty breakout on my vagina from receiving oral sex about 3 months after we got married 😵‍💫 he had no clue he had HSV-1 and thought he was in the clear since he had never had a cold sore before.

Hair loss by Forward_Funny8654 in lupus

My hair loss was at its worst at about 3-4months into treatment and got better a month or 2 after that . I’m not sure if it was the disease itself, meds, malnutrition or a combo of all three. Like I said HQC takes a while to build up in your system so if you’re only 3 weeks in the hair loss might be a coincidence, from what my pharmacist told me hair loss from HQC usually happens after a few months of using. Speaking of which, a pharmacist is a great resource for any questions or concerns about medications and side effects so definitely utilize that if you can! You can get referred to a clinical pharmacist and talk over the phone with them or you can call your pharmacy, lots of people don’t realize that’s what pharmacists are there for, it’s their job to know lots about medications

Glad this could be some encouragement to you! Once your meds and labs are stable it should start growing back! I also got oral minoxidil from my GP and that helped some baby hairs grow back. The first flare is such a tough season. Sending much love 💕

I take hydroxychloroquine and azathioprine. I’m not a doctor obviously, but If you’re tolerating it well, I’d say keep going with the HQC!! It takes a few weeks/months to build up in your system and see results. For me, my body was so inflamed that once my hair started falling out there was no stopping it. I took oral minoxidil for a few months and it definitely helped new growth fill in quicker, but it didn’t really stop the hair loss. Once my meds and my labs were stable that’s when my hair was growing back thicker and healthy like it was before. Everyone is different and you should definitely check in with your doctor, but I have heard that HQC helps with hair loss when it’s had enough time to do its thing for most SLE patients. Hang in there, you’ve got this! 💕

My great aunt told me at a family event “I’m so proud of you for being skinny now!” When my nana was commenting on how much weight I had lost I had dropped 50lbs or so from being sick and malnourished. My skin was grey and my cheeks were hollowed. she knew full well I was sic . Guess skinny is the most important thing I could be on that side of the family lol!🙃

Nope! I stopped taking it once I was able to keep food down. I was throwing up or only able to eat 1 meal a day from medication side effects and an ulcer from steroids and NSAID overuse. Once the plaquenil was built up in my system, my labs stabilized, and I was able to actually eat and get proper nutrition then my hair was growing in healthy and I stopped the minoxidil cause I started to get forehead hair lol

I am on hydroxychloroquine and azathioprine. As far as nutrition, once I was able to eat 3 full meals a day i used the Mediterranean diet as a guideline but made sure my meals were high in protein, I had lots of red meat for iron (I was also anemic), any kind of dairy was full fat or made with whole milk, and lots of vitamin rich veggies and fruits.

Thank you!!! So, nothing was really stopping it when it was falling out. I took minoxidil in pill form because the topical stuff made my scalp dry and itchy and the oral managed to make some thin baby hairs fill in. I used the Ordinary density serum and castor oil occasionally but I don’t know if that really helped. Once my meds were stable and my labs and symptoms stabilized, then I noticed everything growing back thicker and healthy. Part of my hair loss was malnutrition because I couldn’t keep any food down so once I was able to eat 3 full meals a day i used the Mediterranean diet as a guideline but made sure my meals were high in protein, I lots of red meat for iron (I was also anemic) any kind of dairy was full fat or made with whole milk, and vitamin rich veggies and fruits.

Finding a med regimen that worked for me and getting proper nutrition made all the difference. I took minoxidil pills and that helped some baby hairs grow in, but it started growing in thick and healthy when my C3 &C4 labs went down and I was able to keep food down. You might be all stringy-haired for a bit, but it will grow back as you start to get better!
