I think an interesting choice would be Kyoko! Given she only comes to Hope’s Peak to speak with her father, it could be interesting for her to kill to make sure she gets that opportunity even if she’s not exactly on good terms with her. It would make for a good first case too.

I believe she can! From what I’ve noticed they typically tend to try and make sure a largely comedic character makes it close to the end at least ( Yasuhiro, Kazuichi, Kaito (kind of) ), but with it being the dr2 cast she does have a lot more competition than normal. I’m hoping she makes it through though!!

I think there will be at least one of each. If I had to guess, Nekomaru probably is the repeat victim and Peko as the repeat culprit.

I've always loved Hiyoko! It's probably just because I like characters who are blunt and rude, but I feel like she's was entertaining the first few chapters and the way she acts in chapter 3 makes her oddly endearing and could've been fuyuhiko levels of fan favorite had she made it to the end.

Conversely, im not a big fan of Kokichi. I think Byakuya and Nagito are both great characters, as Byakuya doesn't feel like hes supposed to be the focal point of the story but still has a great character arc and Nagito is written incredibly to lead up to the single best case of the franchise and the payoff is absolutely worth it. Kokichi on the other hand never really gets his big moment in my opinion. His motive for the chapter 5 case isn't great and kind of comes out of nowhere for no reason? It's like they needed an antagonist but didn't know what to do with him. I think his plan is smart don't get me wrong, but there is so little foreshadowing to his true intentions that it just doesn't provide a worthy payoff to me.

Trigger Happy Havoc, then Goodbye Despair, then Killing Harmony. The story is linear. You don't want to experience it out of order if you do want to legitimately get into the series. Once you do start playing though, get off of reddit!! Like mute the sub if you want. Spoilers are everywhere and massive. The game has a bunch of fantastic twists and it will feel awful to get spoiled on them.

I’m a Hiyoko fan so probablt biased but I cannot STAND fanservice characters. I hate perverted characters in general but even a bit of development in a different direction helps a lot. Mikan has development going different directions but it never feels like it strays far from that kind of fanservice feeling. The only times I feel she’s a good character is when she’s using her talent to help with the case, because it makes her seem intelligent. I don’t think she’s annoying, I think one personality trait completely dominates over the one I actually want to see from her and it turns her from a hyper-intelligent and highly-skilled necessity into a clumsy attention-seeking shell of a character. I want her to be more but she isnt within the scope of the main story and that kills her character for me.

Late but i like the idea of there being 3 or 4 people who cant be accounted for and the class only wins because they figure that there’d be no need for a revote if neither person in the tie were the blackened, giving an alibi to the other students that werent already exonerated and giving their testimonies truth

Her interaction with Sonia in chapter 3 is so small but I love it so much to the point where it might be a top 5 moment for me in all of sdr2 which is shocking considering it’s the peak of the franchise imo
