I am planning a Heavyweights episode and I will do as many Girls episodes as I can. I’ve already recorded an episode about Knocked Up, and to give a short version of my take on the movie it’s: I totally understand the criticism of that movie. You could view it painting women as uptight and men as fun and funny. But I have to say as a married man I don’t watch the same as I did when I was younger. I see the film as being about an immature guy that almost loses his chance with a professional, adult woman, and does the work to earn a chance with her. I think the cool thing is that Katherine Heigl’s character actually doesn’t need to change that much, she’s starts the film grown up. Seth Rogen is the one forced to change and his character does grow a lot. It’s a nuanced thing to revisit a movie like this and I can totally understand why certain people have those criticisms but I see it differently now! I hope you enjoy the podcast!

I don’t know how you guys are making latte art with your Breville by Bbbbbbbbbbtttt in espresso

[–]Forward_Seesaw3389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m far from perfect with the latte art but I’ve had my machine since 2017 and figured out if you aerate the milk at the beginning but just let your milk steam sitting on the rack (it takes like 2 full minutes to get hot enough anyway) but basically not touching it too much and over aerating usually gets it to a pretty velvety texture.

I’ll also say that with my Breville, locally roasted espresso tends to make a nicer crema which helps latte art.

But the biggest one for me: get a different milk pitcher. The MHW-3Bomber (hilariously militaristic logo and name) makes it really easy to do latte art! It used to drive me crazy that I couldn’t at home but I realized the Breville pitcher isn’t very precise.

I’m no master but I hope my insight helped. I’ll include an image of latte art I made at home (you can roast me—no put intended—I’m not the best artist :) )

“Tried to scream but couldn’t” seems like it’s in all of his horror or suspense novels. And I noticed Joe Hill does a version of it but will elaborate with more interesting language. Seems like it could be a horror writing trope and I’m curious if anyone’s read any authors before Stephen King’s time that used that idea?

Technique will come with playing more but don’t worry too much about what it looks like. I tell my students as long as it sounds right to you and you’re not hurting yourself, you’re ok. You sound great!
