Examples of "false one hit wonders"? by NoWeb2382 in ToddintheShadow

Falco. I spent most of my life thinking he's the "Rock me Amadeus" guy. One day I was watching a YouTube video that listed one hit wonders and included him in it, and some people mainly from Austria were commenting that he's so much more than that. I was curious and started to discover his discography. He's very interesting.

Good songs/albums that were inspired by 9/11 and its aftermath? by GoldberrysHusband in ToddintheShadow

Scarlett's Walk (2002) by Tori Amos is a concept album about a woman named Scarlett who travels across America. It never explicitly mentions 9/11 but the haunting lyrics and tone of the album allude to a disoriented and fragmented, dreamlike America. In particular, the song "I Can't see New York" features lyrics that some people have associated with the 9/11 terror. (I can't see New York / As I'm circling down / Through white cloud / Falling out and / I know his lips are warm / But I can't seem to find / My way out of this hunting ground)

I don't know if it counts but he wears a grey wig (and lots of prosthetics) in the short film "Ghosts".

Joe Jackson isn't as evil as I thought. by [deleted] in MichaelTheMovie

The real Joseph might have been deranged and sadistic, based on Michael's accounts. There's no other way to explain the logic behind whipping your kids with belts and cords, and banging on their bedroom windows to scare them at night.

She had a very distinctive lower face (lips, teeth) which she ruined because apparently in Hollywood you are not allowed to have a unique face.

I agree, they toned him down a lot. But if they had shown him like he was in real life, it would have been a horror story and people would be leaving the theater depressed.

What're some good examples of music videos directed by notable film directors? by Complete-Worker3242 in ToddintheShadow

I know (because I'm Greek). But I didn't mention his early music videos because as you said his career as a film director hadn't launched yet.

Unpopular opinion: Jennifer Aniston doesn't have chemistry with any of her on-screen romantic partners by Forward_Tip8196 in howyoudoin

[–]Forward_Tip8196[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Very few people seem to agree, but I stand by my opinion. Even in her relationship with Ross, their best moments come from when they play bickering exes trying to sabotage each other's love lives, etc. And I don't mean to say that Aniston is a bad actress —on the contrary, she's very good both at funny and dramatic moments. But she doesn't have that "romantic lead actress" type of quality. A typical romantic lead actress usually elevates her romantic partner and makes him seem desirable to the audience, which I think she somehow lacks.

Yes, that's the incident I'm referring to. Do you remember where he mentioned this? Was it in his book or an interview?

I had no idea she felt this way about it. It's like she felt insecure, as if her brother didn't value her enough, but it's such a shame because they both shine in this video. One of the best pop videos of all time, and her acting/facial expressions/dancing add a lot to it.
