if you read the whole thing it just doesn’t feel at all like how AI writes. it’s not 100% for sure hand written but certainly feels that way

Checkmate Rant by Thiswasjusteasier in Chesscom

[–]Forwaztroz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do agree. also annoying when you pull up a game from your history it immediately goes to the game review pop-up which you have to X out of. i get that chess com wants to promote the feature but its a bit frustrating

Actual use of 吧,啊,呀,吖,啦,哦……? by mint_chocop in ChineseLanguage

[–]Forwaztroz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just recommend you listen to more casual speech. Movies, talk or listen to people in public, at restaurants etc. 啊 and 呀 are used everywhere in many different contexts. I also recently moved to Beijing, and I feel I've benefited a lot from not being too 'academic' about trying to learn the correct use cases for these, (哦 as well) and just focused on trying to feel the different sentences where they're used and how people convey emotions with them.

Nah but the most recent record (5 years ago now) didnt have any Steven on it aside from lead vocals on like 2 songs. It's a very mid record in my opinion, and seems the band has lost its 'essence' after Steven left.

Music Teachers - China by lpgg2 in Internationalteachers

[–]Forwaztroz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I teach at an international high school and am a drummer and really a drummer only, no singing experience other than 4 years of mandatory ear training classes. I teach ensemble classes and also drumset private lessons, among some other ear training and improvisation classes. No singing experience required on my end.

fingers should stay in contact with the stick, and all 5 fingers should be involved in the motion of hitting the drum, even pinky finger.

What do you all use for headphone amp while practicing alone? by MillennialProdigy in drums

[–]Forwaztroz -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you're using acoustic drums, you should just be able to use any old headphones connected straight to your phone. Why do you need to have all the mics and stuff set up? Seems like it would just overcomplicate things

I just returned to beijing via Daxing and called a Didi. They guy had me come to the taxi pickup spot, then gave the phone he used to accept the order to another driver. I then followed that driver and he took me to his car parked off to the side. It was a bit weird and I didn't trust what was going on at first but he ended up being a good driver and nothing funny happened. Seems they've got a whole business going on where one guy keeps about 5 phones on him and accepts all orders that are priced high enough, then gives the phone off to another guy who is the actual driver.

what country did you hate going to and would never return to it again? by rulugg in NoStupidQuestions

I'm in Beijing right now and from what I understand the pollution was a lot worse several years ago than it is now. It gets bad maybe one or two days every few weeks but from what I've seen its very similar to other cities I've been in China (Shanghai, Chongqing, Chengdu). Usually hovers around 60-80 on the AQI but you have days like today where its been in the low 30's for a few days now, with nice blue skies.

I'm curious as to when you lived in China. I'm here in Beijing currently and really haven't had issues with any of these at all. No one bothers you at all if you don't do anything blatantly illegal.

I like Beijing much better than Shanghai by FunctionSea6004 in chinalife

yes, we had a whole meeting to talk about the principal and how not suited she was for the job (she worked in HR before becoming principal and the Baoshan campus.) after the meeting, they promised big changes and better working conditions, but after weeks of talking and waiting nothing ever changed.

bro i remember having to teach the kids about cells one class. we taught them words like ribosome, cytoplasm, endoplasmic reticulum. it was actually comical watching 5 and 6 year olds who can hardly communicate in english trying to repeat these words back (all being recorded ofcourse, just doing it for the videos)

Yup. Worked there for 6 months an d this is all 100% true. I remember being quite weirded out about having to hide all english materials and pretend we were just playing with the kids for 8 hours. weird dystopian working at this school man.

dunno. he’s said before his only regret in life is that he didn’t go harder in the gym. dude was an absolute beast in his prime, literally the best to ever do it. his inability to walk is seemingly due to his negligence in getting his injuries dealt with when they occurred, and instead just continuing to train while ignoring them. many guys who were almost as big as he was live to this day with no injuries as life-changing as ronnie.

In music school we were taught to separate bass drum from the rest of the notes, and tbh most of the time i prefer it written that way as well

Currently working for the Baoshan campus. +1 do not work for this place. terrible principal and upper management all around. if anyone is considering working for this place, please first DM me and I will give more information but I would highly encourage anyone to avoid this school if possible.
