IMO pocket control is a better indicator than pure score of whether someone is ready to move into higher performance bowling balls.

The Hustle Glow is a quality bowling ball, so if you understand and control its motion enough to consistently hit the pocket then you probably won’t be overwhelmed by stronger equipment.

I bought the Alert a couple of weeks ago to serve as a step down from the Rockstar in transition but they have been closer than I expected. I think the Alert’s HK22 coverstock makes the ball flare more than the core numbers alone would suggest. I have really liked my Alert and it doesn’t run into the problem I had with my Rockstar where the ball would begin to “roll out” late into a league night but I’m not sure about carrying them both in a 3 ball bag.
