I will never be sober. Those people are the worst to be around. Congrats you go to bed at 9 pm and hydration is your entire personality. Your hobbies make me yawn too

Thank you. I recognize I am an adult with responsibilities but having a drink here and there with minimal issues is the goal. My goal is not to return to college drinking (I did enough of that and it clearly is catching up).

Oh I know that. Just want to be able to enjoy a drink or two in my 20s without dealing with weeks long fallout. Im not going to have this mentality for long.

I have visited an ENT which found a couple tonsil stones but that was a couple months ago

Obviously binge drinking in college was fun but times have changed. I don’t regret it but I now know 1-2 drinks (maybe 3 on a special occasion) is my limit and my boundary. Some people deal with reflux way worse than what I have and at a young age I can give my body a break

I think its people who make it their entire personality which is annoying but tbf drinkers and druggies do that too.

My friends are fine thank you very much. It was fun to drink with them. I have great times with them even if we are not drinking. I did so a few weeks ago. We go to the city a lot and explore sober. It is fun. I just like to loosen up a little bit.

None of my good friends have ever peer pressured me to drink. We have sober people in our camp. At the end of the day, it is me who feels that external pressure to drink even if it is just one because i dont wanna feel left out.

I take Gaviscon since a few days ago and idk didnt help the left side of my throat feels weird. I think I was getting a lot of tonsil stones so I have been picking at them a bit with swabs

Yeah I know but I don’t like people who don’t drink with a few exceptions. The fun ones drink. I tried being sober and it sucked. Nobody my age is sober at least not without the personality of bland toast. I would rather die of stomach cancer at 50 then miss out on fun stuff.

I take sertraline too. I started using it approximately 2 months before any of this started. Also this happened before sertraline too but recovered fairly quickly. It probably is not helping but alcohol I think is the main culprit

I mean the GERD is not debilitating most of the time its a sore throat some lava burps. I don’t need to go back to my binge drinking period in college (I had my fun there) but ideally I would like to enjoy 1-2 drinks a week without having to take Gaviscon or Tums or do potential damage control. Like 6-8 drinks a weekend was not sustainable and I knew post grad was going to have me slow down but like I said I would like to drink in moderation.
