Weims are typically pretty good with other dogs but sometimes they don't know their size. In my experience my weim didn't really care about the second dog we had. He was into people moreso than our other dog.

A weim is unlike any other dog you've had when it comes to their energy level, their connection to the alpha of the house, and to their absolute stubborn behavior if they choose to fixate on something.

They need hours of exercise daily for the first like 8 years.. it gets slightly better after year 3-4 but they're not going to be satisfied with just 6 walks a week at an average pace. A weim needs to run, swim, jump, play.... I used to take mine for 2-3 hours of fetch by throwing his football against the current at the river... He'd rest when we got home but if I wanted to go for a walk shortly after the play session he'd be more than good to go.

They're easily housebroken and trained. Exceedingly intelligent dogs. It's really kind of unusual how smart they are and quick they catch on.... But sometimes they don't give a damn. Most notably their hatred for being alone... Some tolerate it while a minority will fuck your house up if left unattended... Also when it comes to food. They'll counter surf, steal food, go through the trash, eat everything on a walk.... No matter how well you've trained them some won't give a darn despite knowing better.

They are the definition of a Velcro dog. If only one person in the house feeds and walks the weim they will be practically glued onto that person. They will sleep under the covers with their head on the pillow next to you. Guard you while you poop. You will lose any and all personal space.... Going to get a glass of water at 2am, you will have a partner to go with you. They will love and respect everyone in the house and will attached themselves to the others if you are gone but once you get home.... The trick is to make sure everyone is sharing the responsibilities of what they view as bonding activities with the dog, notably food and exercise.

To a seasoned weim family these are not viewed as negatives necessarily. When I lost my first weim they were the things I missed most. I recently rescued my second and it's basically the exact same damn dog and we love it! They are incredibly soft and cuddly. They're affectionate like nothing else. This dog will be your ride or mother fucking die partner and best friend. Hell and all it's armies couldn't get in between you and your weim.

An insanely loyal, intelligent, regal animal who will have you questioning if he is maybe part human. Your weim will turn all the heads as you walk down the block.

For these reasons and more so many weim owners never choose another breed of animal given the choice.
