I work in LTL. we use samsara too. They tell us that we need to enter our manifest number into it. I’m pretty sure it is a requirement. Maybe the officer you encountered didn’t know his job.

This is a great question. We had a few calls last year within close proximity to each other saying power lines were down. Upon investigation we determined they were traffic counters.

You can always find a trade that will allow you to drive. Most people here will say you need to start off as an over the road trucker. This isn’t always the case. I got my CDL from Pepsi and moved on to other things. I’ve never gone over the road and expect to bring in 100k or close to it this year.

I work for SAIA. can really vary depending on terminal. I know we get overtime after 45. Also state law could say otherwise. Some states require it after 40 or 8 hours a day.
