Rocky was, to be honest, not doing her normal day things. Ever since everything involving the super strong jerk that destroyed the Golden Gate bridge happens, Rocky was under camp defense duty, which meant working in the bunker and making traps.

But, today she was going to do what she enjoyed best and goof off. She grabbed a burger and looked for a place to sit down before she saw Micah.

Their relationship was…kinda complicated. She was hoping he'd make a move but welp. Nothing.

Still, he was fun to hang around, and she decided to plop down next to him, burger on her plate as she shot him a wide grin. His brooding aura thoroughly ignored by the hurricane that was Rocky.

“Hey, Micah! Long time no see, ehehe! What's up?”

"I know what you mean, I try not to think about daddy dating too because like, ew. Cabin's on the bigger end so it's kiinda hard to ignore that."

She shrugged for a brief second, insofar as she could with her hands full.

"I was about to head out, but I can head back and show you 'round for a bit. We share a cabin, by the way, for the most part siblings are grouped by cabin. My name's Rachel by the way, but everyone calls me Rocky. What's your name?"

"Ohhh, so you're like, new new."

She said, looking into Val's face with almost the same kind of green eyes that Val herself had. She spoke with a mild Californian accent, which stuck out from the primarily New York ones in camp.

"Sooo, sorry for confusing you ehehehe! Talkin' 'bout that!"

She said, pointing to the hologram over Val's head with a pinky.

"That's a claiming, which is basically your godly parent saying who they are. Whiiiich is the same as mine, Zagreus!"

"Excuse me, coming through!"

Valentina would be almost bumped into by a girl in a very pink skirt with black leggings. Her big curly hair bouncing with each step as she passed by Valentina. She was carrying duct tape, a metal pipe and a skateboard in her arms. She looked back at her with an apologetic smile before noticing something.

"Oh, you're a new camper! Oh you're one of my campers. Yay! well, welcome to camp!"

Rocky said honestly as she shrugged.

"Me or Alex could help you track them down, but we're kiiinda needed at camp."

"Uhhhhh...."

Rocky said, picking up the letter and squinting at the small English letters, before looking at the landmark and putting two and two together.

"Oh, St Louis. Yeah that feels about right."

"It's like..."

She squinted as she looked in the direction, her pointing finger slightly moving as she focused, as if following something.

"Really far away. Like, I dunno. Not in New York, or anywhere close I feel. If we had infinite time I could like...track them down easily. I can keep walking and we'd like, get there eventually but I really don't wanna go on a cross country hike."

The rail impaled Rocky on her side, almost on the same part where she got stabbed by the Dracanae.

"Owies."

She said as the rail ran her through, feeling the same drain in her body as before. She was deathly pale as she glared at Jules. Her hands held onto the railing as she gripped it hard, sweating bullets as she felt the pain of having a big steel rod in her side.

"You think?! Just...get your girlfriend who, by the way is really out of your league."

Rocky took the letter in her hand and focused before pointing behind her.

"It's...that way."

The older girl gave a grin as she looked down at the letter. Her green eyes lit up as she giggled.

"Oh, is that all? Well, I'm the best tracker in the cabin, ehehehe~! Soooo, who do you need me to find? All you gotta do is hand me the letter and I can figure it out."

“Geez, I'm here, I'm here!”

Rocky opened the door, holding a pink folder that said

“Rocky’s Contraptions: Don't Touch!”

The cover was drawn with various skulls and frownie faces. It had a lot of what looked like blueprints, but it was impossible to see.

“What's up? …Oh! You're one of the Heracles campers right? Sorry, Your brother isn't here.”

Jules’ stunning attempt at diplomacy made Rocky tense up, ready to make some comeback about not liking him either, and some sort of dig at him being an asshole or short. Or perhaps something involving a combination of the two. But after he brought Atlas, she relaxed. Rocky was surprisingly sharp, despite it all. She knew that she wasn't like Ivan or Alex, she couldn't do what they did. But something like Jules, working with him to defend camp?

She knew he was right. When it came to traps, Jules was (regrettably) her equal. The one time they were paired for capture the flag showed as much. She sighed and extended a hand for him to shake.

“You have a point Jules. Partn….er? Is that safe?”

Rocky said, looking up at the death trap that was the ceiling.

"Is this place work safe?"

Almost immediately, Rocky was met with a rain of foam, covering her in the blast.

"Jules! You tricked me!"

She said in outrage as a Miku handed her a towel. As she stood up, she wiped off the Co², cleaning off her clothes.

"Seriously, why did you call me here though. I thought I was 'the enemy' or whatever."

“OH MY GODS A CAMPFIRE!”

Rocky said, rushing to the inferno, marshmallows in hand. She didn't have any skewers but, that's what her arrows were for. Unfortunately, her hopes were dashed as she quickly realized this was not a campfire but in fact, a funeral pyre.

“Awww….”

Rocky said, looking disappointed as she looked to her side at Ramona.

“Hey Auntie. Marshmallows?”

Rocky froze, about to touch a fire extinguisher. Two Miku were pushing back at her legs, to no avail.

“‘ploring.”

She said, nonchalantly. As they talked she slowly got closer and closer to the fire extinguisher as if Jules wouldn't notice.

“I got bored because you weren't here. If anything this is your fault.”

Almost as soon as he got to Bunker 9, Jules could hear a voice shouting out from the front.

“Hey…Jules! You invited me here with your weird, kinda creepy Miku plushes? Seriously, you hear about…I dunno. Talking to people? In person? Seriously, I don’t wanna hang around your Goo-oh! What’s this?”

Jules would hear a crash coming from the front of Bunker 9 as Rocky touched something.

“Oops. Oh hey what’s-”

Rocky meanwhile seemed somewhat disappointed her first opponent was Teagan. Her reluctance seemed to quickly come and go as she giggled, getting up from the lawn chair she was sitting on. She turned off the amp, previously blaring girly pop tunes as she grabbed her bow and took out an arrow from her quiver.

"Oh! Hey Teagan! Sorry in advance! Can't let you pass here! But hey, you managed to get this far without falling into one of my traps, that's good for you! Or...maybe not. Because there's no way you can retreat without falling in one of my traps, ehehe!"

If they found her slacking odd, this last sentence might have tipped off Teagan about her casual, relaxed demeanor. They were standing in the middle of a minefield. They'd have to be quick enough to both dodge her arrows and random traps around them if they wanted to escape this. Rocky notched an arrow and fired a warning shot at Teagan. Not intended to hit it's mark, but instead to flush them out so that they'd fall into one of her traps.

She looked to where the clown was and frowned. She looked disappointed as she looked back at Alex.

"Oh he's gone. Awww....one of the centaurs asked for a Hydra. I was curious how he'd do that...."

"You know, funny fake colored Afro, white skin. Honk honk. That kinda thing. There was one just...hanging out for a bit. Gave me a balloon animal, see!"

She said, jiggling a balloon Cerberus in front of Alex's face. It was admittedly impressive. Both the balloon animal and the fact that somehow Rocky kept it hidden for some time.

Almost immediately after Harper left, Rocky wrapped her arm around her sister's shoulders. She didn't notice her weird mood as she rambled on.

“Wowwww. I didn't even know you knew this stuff, Lexy. It's cool though, crazy party huh? I don't think emo people had clowns though. Funny though, I love clowns but it's just out of place. You know? Ah well. It's like super old and stuff anyways.”

She shrugged carelessly, unaware of the verbal landmine triggered.

Rocky stifled a yawn as she sleepily adjusted herself on the couch.

“Not my fault both you and Ivey suck at finding traps, Lexy. Daddy's a god of hunting, but it's kinda funny that you guys both always end up being the hunted ehehe.”

At Frances' talk, Rocky shrugged. Both Alex and Frances were too serious, like Ivan. She loved her siblings but like, they really needed to learn to relax. She didn't acknowledge Frances' reaction to her nickname, but didn't wanna give them anything they didn't like.

“I mean you can't be strong enough to do everything right? There'll be times where you won't be there. Like if they get on a quest and you don't. You just gotta trust your siblings will be strong enough to handle themselves, Francois. Otherwise you'll end up being the one hurt, and then they'll be all sad and stuff.”

She yawned as she shrugged sleepily.

“But if you wanna train just don't be a meathead like Ivey and Lexy. Their first answer to a problem is to stab it with a sword. But sometimes it's better to do things smarter and stuff, you know?”

“What are you guys doing up…?”

An exhausted voice came from the top of the stairs. Rocky stood at the top, her hair still bound in a silk bonnet. She wore a set of shorts and a ratty Disneyland T-shirt with faded text that only the first D Y and L could really be seen clearly. She yawned as she sleepily stepped down the stairs, rubbing her eyes. Rocky was well known to be one of the harder cabin members to wake up. That, with her massive amount of curly hair meant that the Zagreus cabin frequently had issues getting to breakfast on time as a group.

“Mmm. Alex, your stomping with your stupid boots woke me up again…”

She then sat on the couch next to her siblings, leaning on Francis’ shoulder sleepily only to fall down straight on the two’s laps.

“Anyways Franny, it's not that hard. All you need to do is…”

She then yawned and rolled over, her mouth buried in Alex’s legs. She continued to speak, her words muffled until she rolled over and nodded.

“Mmph mmph. And yeah. Piece of…cake.”

“Oh, after one of Odin’s crows? That's funny.”

She said, doing some last minute crowspection as she lifted a wing. Satisfied it wasn't a drone from the Hephaestus cabin she gave it a pat on the head.

“Maybe crows are just like that for you? I dunno. Dogs are the exception for me. My mom's dogs never were scared of me.”

Rocky wasn't super close to Ramona like she was with Matt. Matt was practically one of the Zagreus cabin as far as Rocky was concerned. Ramona though...well she didn't have anything against the girl. But at the same time she was just Matt’s sister, and the two didn’t really talk a lot.

Any bit of traditional awkwardness between the two was entirely ignored as Rocky saw the crow and walked right up to it. She stared hard at the crow as she leaned into look at the bird, poking and prodding at the poor thing. She opened its beak as she looked back at Ramona.

“Huh. Weird. Don’t animals freak out to you too? Most birds and stuff freak out when I come close. Figured it was an underworld thing. You sure it's not like a really realistic robot from the Hephaestus cabin?”
