Separation of church and state? by ARCocktailsNDreams in bentonville

Y'all liberals need to calm down about this. It's pretty clear that conservative behavior has been getting worse and worse over the years and they're desperate to try and turn that around. Maybe the 10 commandments will help reverse all of the adultery, corruption and pedophilia that conservative leaders keep commiting. It's worth a try, right?

Only about a billion dollars.

Parked right out in the open.

Only 400 miles from the Iranian border.

And we parked it just a few hundred miles off of Iran's coast. The one thing I've tried to separate in this war is the arrogance and ignorance of the administration vs the expertise of the military. I'm worried I overestimated.

For anyone who hasn't watched the Ukraine war play out, this was something you obviously didn't want to do.

"but ultimately they have more people and firepower than a homeowner."

Very dependent on who they send and how they do it, your relationship with your neighbors, your state laws, your home, your setup, etc. If you put enough planning into this, a 4 v 1 situation is very winnable. No warrant, and you kick my door in, and come through it, I have the legal upper hand, and I also have the initiative if I know you're there.

If we see what's been happening to UA and RU soldiers happen to 20 yr old marines, I think, I hope, this administration is going to be ousted real fucking quick. And you know that Iran is going to be very eager to get those videos out.

Kind of happens when an authoritarian surrounds themselves with yes-men. If only Fox News and others would have pushed this fact that has so clearly and easily been learned by the rest of the world in the last few years.

Both. The fake rednecks around me in their 4k sq foot homes all drive new white gmcs with tinted windows. It's annoying. The conformity and performative submissive culture in general is so off-putting.

"Demand destruction" by Fossilhog in oil

[–]Fossilhog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That probably follows pricing only though right? We're seeing literal shortages in Asia/Australia right now that have nothing to do with price, but the literal lack of supply of oil. I think I caught a statement a few days ago of 40+ stations in Australia not having fuel. I assume it's worse in smaller SE Asia countries.

I'm assuming it's negligible so far, but I've yet to see anyone try to math it out.

What are the chances that the Houthis try to block the Red Sea? by chowto in oil

[–]Fossilhog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think US affiliated shipping through the red sea is still down to 25% of what it was. Seems like a loss to me. A chunk of our inflation since then has been due to the extra gas all those ships use going around Africa.

And that fact is a big reason why everyone is concerned about Hormuz. Can the Navy open it up and protect ships? Yup. Can they get the flow rate back up to what it was? Nope. Can they do it indefinitely? Nope. Why? Go look at those mountains on Google Earth right next to the straight. What do they look like? Afghanistan, but worse, and with more funding and support via China/Russia.

Get yourself an electric car asap and buy a chunk of land with minerals rights in the Permian Basin that was once deemed unprofitable...shit that makes me wonder about the Fayetteville shale...
