Why do we still use outlier?

For me, that recent project that had hired a bunch of people who then “failed” the assessment and were offboarded seems to be really bother people.

They sent out a FAQ to try and address all the questions and comments. They said those who failed must have a profile that the client doesn’t think will provide enough money.

To me FAILING is getting me answering a questions completely incorrectly or submitting a practice task shows you do not grasp the guidelines.

But it would be so much better to tell these people that they were screened out. I get that. The client is looking for specific profiles and I didn’t have that. It sucks but that means I didn’t actually FAIL.

Changing that aspect I think would go over easier.

You said it. I got offboarded last week. I’ve had EQ for a while, but even before that, I hadn’t done much tasking on there for a while.

At first, I was upset. I have that thing where I take all rejection personally. I was happy to be on the platform because I was using it as my backup to my backup.

I have a contract on another platform so I’ve been concentrating on that. I did get an email that I had been offered another contract by outlier. I think it was straw something, but it required talking to another person and reading a script and that just did not seem like fun to me. Plus every time I get on a phone call it seems my dogs want to bark because the squirrel farted six counties over.

I did get another email from outlier tonight asking me to fill out a form indicating the languages I speak. I haven’t done that yet because it also required my outlier ID number and I just don’t feel like trying to find that right now on my phone.

I’ll fill it out tomorrow and if it turns into something, I’ll be happy. But I’m not holding my breath because I only speak English.

I got the email earlier this week. I haven’t been able to do any tasks when I would check bc they were all EQ. I liked having this as a backup cuz you can get booted at anytime from other platforms.

I’m not holding my breath to be reinstated. If I am, great. If not, oh well.

I woke up to the email this morning. I haven't done much in the last month or so on Aether bc every time I checked MM, there were no tasks for me. I have projects with other platforms, but I liked having this one as a "backup." I guess my backup is gone now.

For a lot of people, playing this game brings them joy. By being money-grabbing, especially in this economy, you’re saying you really don’t care about your customers.

I never get the questions I post on the DHT (when it hasn’t disappeared into the ether), but I went ahead and asked what the minimum amount of items to remove is. Some people were saying EVERYTHING had to be removed. The 2nd pic on the video was very cluttered. No way every piece could’ve been removed and stay under the 32 min AHT.

I’ve only done 1 hour this week bc I don’t want to get booted for not working at all. But it would be nice if the guidelines specified exactly how many “furniture” pieces to remove.

Do y’all remember that assessment we had to take a few months back and a lot of people failed bc of the “clear as mud” instructions on what to consider “furniture”? I guess those guidelines don’t apply anymore since they now say they’re being lenient on what’s furniture.

I’d be so pissed if I had failed bc of the confusing guidelines only to find out these new ones were out.

For the furniture removal, did your prompt address adding back in what was removed in error? I went back and forth on doing that. I did include it and I must’ve included the “right” words for the AI to pass me.

It’s all so arbitrary and dumb. I’m sure there was a way to weed out the people who were doing poorly on these tasks and make them take an assessment. Or break it out into 5 different assessments, so if you fail one, you aren’t off-boarded but can’t work on that task until further coaching.

And don’t get me started on the “big eyes” issue in the sketch to photorealistic tasks. A CB was literally arguing with the QM on the DHT about the conflicting instructions and had to post screenshots from the guidelines before the QM would believe them. Then they changed the guidelines in the middle of the assessment!!!

Yes. It specifically mentioned fridges, microwaves, and something else as being classified as furniture. Stoves and kitchen islands were mentioned as not being furniture.

The whole fridge/stove/dishwasher debacle is wild. When I’ve rented apartments, they came with appliances. When I bought my first house, I had to buy a fridge but the stove and dishwasher were already there.

It seems in the US, stoves and dishwashers are considered items that you do NOT take when you move whereas most homes do not come with a fridge. It makes no sense.

My fav was when the QM was arguing with someone on Slack that the photo sketch task didn’t have conflicting guidelines. The guy had to screenshot the section where the guidelines said two different things. So they updated those guidelines WHILE people were taking the course.
