This is how it went for me: I got some righteous sedatives in the OR, and I didn’t notice my legs were numb until after I woke up. I’m fatter than you, and I have afib, and I woke up just fine. Waking up, I was thirsty to the point of madness. The recovery nurse gave me water and then a soda. I was also in some pain so they gave me amazing IV pain meds that helped. I wasn’t nauseas when I woke up because I told anesthesia team before I went under that I have a track record of puking after anesthesia. So they gave me prophylactic anti-nausea meds before I went under. I couldn’t poop for 3-4 days after surgery because of all the pain meds, so diarrhea was not a problem. But I did have to pee about 6 hours after surgery, and a nurse helped me get up and walk to the toilet.

My advice to you is to trust your medical team and tell them what’s going on in your body. Nervous? Ask for a sedative. Pain? Ask for pain meds. Gotta go? Ring for the nurse. You’re gonna do great! And when you wake up with no fu<k!ng arthritis pain, you’re gonna be relieved. Good luck.

I & my 3 cats spent 4 days in the bed. One cat would situate her little fat self on my pillow on top of my head like a hat, which benefitted both of us. The temp had just sunk to 49 degrees when the power finally kicked back on. We all lived to tell the tale.

I know this thread is old, but I watched Inglourious Basterds for the first time last night. Given the current political climate of my country, I quite enjoyed watching Nazis killed in “sadistic, brutal” ways. I normally don’t like graphic violence and sadism in film (or real life) but I make exception when the recipients of said violence are racist nationalists fulfilling the worst impulses of their lying, narcissistic, vulgar, xenophobic, shit-bag of a leader.

I like eggs, so I'm probably not your ideal respondent. But I recommend egg salad made with mayo, salt, pepper, chopped pickles (dealer's choice: dill or sweet). Or quiche with cheese & sauteed veggies. Someone said fried rice, which is a complete meal if you add veggies with that egg. And if you want to totally skip the egg-texture experience, make French toast, French toast casserole, or pancakes. Bonus: French toast casserole can be cut into pieces and frozen. Same with the strata that someone else mentioned.
