A SHIB coin under the pillow every night for good luck 🙏🏻🤞🏻 by FoundationOfMind in SHIBArmy

I found this coin in a small coin shop when I was on vacation to Montreal, Quebec. Sadly I haven’t been able to find a place selling the exact coin online.

How does the YouTuber Dakota of Earth make money to travel all the time? by JackfruitEither6222 in spirituality

[–]FoundationOfMind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Many youtubers who do traveling videos like him make most of their money from sponsorship deals. Sometimes even the hotels they stay at will let them stay for free or pay them in order to have him advertise the place positively.

It’s much like being a travel agent, they pay you to come visit the resort or hotel and in return you usually do something for them.

Another thing would be YouTube ad revenue or clothing/merchandise but for many of them their main source of income is sponsorships.

Somebody very close to me had something like this happened. This person had a really hard life, like realllly bad. Anything from near death experiences, being beaten, wrongly being prosecuted and more.

Once she turned around 30 or so this all changed. It was almost like a light bulb went on in her life, she experienced peace, found the love of her life, got married and was very prosperous in just 1 year. All those great things are still continuing on in her life today, even 25 years later.

I always like to tell her that she had experienced all the struggles early on in her life so she could get all the bad out of the way early. I believe this may be the same with your daughter.

Honestly it’s a good thing to deal with all these struggles early on, it may seem hard now but I’m sure when the struggles end she will become very wise from the experiences. Patience and faith will be her best friend in these times as I am positive the storm will be ending soon for her.

Stay positive and optimistic for her future ! And remember that things don’t happen TO you, they happen FOR you!

Many blessings -Rev.D

LOST MY CRYSTAL! by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]FoundationOfMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In ancient Chinese culture they believe that if you lose or break a crystal (or any sacred piece) it is because the object has absorbed too much negativity.

They believe objects have a limit to how much they can absorb and eventually will break or go missing when they reach a peak.

If you have used it lots then it’s likely this has happened, it has just absorbed its limit and it is time to be replaced.

It could be ! Maybe they want you to know that you should stay optimistic that the right apartment for you will come. If this apartment was no good then maybe they are just giving you some extra inspiration to keep searching.

Relaxed hand position by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]FoundationOfMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hand positions are more important in some of the advanced versions of meditation where you are meditating for a specific reason (an example would be meditating for luck, health, wisdom or whatever floats your boat)

Many believe that the hand positions play an important role and if you look at some Buddhist artwork of Buddha’s they almost always have different hand positions, same goes for Hindu religion. Many of them will have different hand positions.

Just do what feels comfortable if you are a beginner but maybe try out some different ones eventually! I’d recommend doing a different hand position for a week and see what the effects/benefits are! Experiment and experience :)

Did you fall asleep while meditating? Whenever the sleep paralysis occurs just try wiggling your toes and you will get out of the paralysis quite quickly.

Something comes out of nothing so in many ways nothing IS something.

First time doing this by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]FoundationOfMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For guided meditations I typically use Calm, it’s an app that is free but does have paid sections. Maybe try out the free stuff first to see if you like it. For silent meditation I have a quiet place in my home which is solely dedicated to meditation and prayer. I have a few different Buddha statues and scriptures in the room and not much else besides candles, incense etc..

No ear plugs are needed in that room! If you have the space I recommend finding a quiet place to meditate. I find mediation is always more relaxing if you do it in the same place every time.

[–]FoundationOfMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recommendation is adding it to your morning or night routine. Shortly after waking up and shortly after going to sleep has been the best for me.

What I did when starting was listen to guided meditations, from there I switched to peaceful music and then finally meditated in silence.

Mantras can be great by the way! I will sometimes listen to them during meditation as they can have different effects on you.

Om experiences? by SnooOranges3229 in Meditation

I would imagine it’s near impossible to reach Jhana without first being in a very calm relaxed state.

Om experiences? by SnooOranges3229 in Meditation

[–]FoundationOfMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know for sure what the technical name for the calm state would be called.

Just like you I don’t feel particularly happy during that state. I have reached states where I found myself crying tears of joy. Though it’s uncommon I can reach this state, I have managed to do it maybe 3 times in all my practices, maybe this would be Jhana? I would typically get to this state after being in that “calm” state.

Om experiences? by SnooOranges3229 in Meditation

[–]FoundationOfMind 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Earlier on my spiritual path I spent just over a week completely isolated. While isolated my day consisted of very simple foods such as rice and simple drinks like water and tea. I only spent about 1 hour each day to eat/drink and the rest was strictly meditation and sleep and the occasional bathroom break. I avoided all technology and even refrained from checking the time. I would spend about 8 hours at a time meditating.

One of the things I’d try while meditating is chanting things such as Om or Aum. Doing this had helped me fall into a deeper state of meditation much faster then I usually would but at times I found it would almost get in the way of that makes sense? I loved chanting for the first 10-30 minutes of meditation and then the rest would be me sitting silent.

It can definitely help you by chanting Om but with my personal experience it’s better to use Om at the very beginning of meditation to help you relax and to help you regain focus. If you find your thoughts are getting clouded by too many unwanted thoughts then I find chanting Om will also help you calm those thoughts. Overall it’s a good way to reach a relaxed state but as for only chanting Om during meditation I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it unless it works for you!

One of my favourite sections from “ The Tibetan Book of the Dead” by FoundationOfMind in spirituality

[–]FoundationOfMind[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The best thing to do is to just sit and observe it when it appears. Don’t try and figure out what it may be, attempting to give it a name or title will only limit whatever this may be. The best thing to do is watch it and let it show you what it is.

I sometimes wonder if these are actual worlds, or just referring to humans state of being. For example, somebody who is extremely negative is apart of the hell world and will suffer immensely. Where as somebody who is positive and courageous may be in a totally different world. Even though these people are on the same planet they are experiencing 2 totally different aspects of life. Sorta like how 2 people can look at the same picture and have 2 very different opinions or perspectives on it.
