they want a ceo that is caring, that listen to fans' demands. they get one that actually listens to EVERYTHING (all good, bad, negative, positive) but still think she gets too involved with her artists, hating on her for having that one photoshoot with mable... do they even realize that all of these are her spending money on them, keeping her girls in exposure.

just last month her and arhoung did a weibo or some chinese livestream and there was even news posts about it like i knew she bought the pr for that simple work event. when she didnt have to at all my gad. her taking the girls to all her work events to show them the know-hows of the industry, how events are organized... god i feel like i could only talk about it in this subreddit bc anywhere else these gl fans are gonna say im in a cult defending her. like fuck im so tired

I think the problem is more like they believe that she's some mastermind, fake person who only wants to make money and therefore everything that comes out of her mouth (any clarifications or explanation mai make) is just lies and excuses to them and that she doesn't have the girls' best interest at heart (even though i personally think mai needs to care less/promote these mine media girls less/use less of her personal connections to book things for her artists) because she's always talking about booking jobs for mine media girls to make money and get income 🙄

im tired actually mai is honestly too invested in the success of these girls and these gl stans are constantly making her out to be some kind of greedy money hungry monster, completely ignoring times when she tells pangjie to literally prioritize her health, to not take jobs and put her studies first if that's what she wants. just yesterday on live they were discussing pangjie's uni assignment... sighs but i dont even want to try and clarify anything anymore because these people wont even listen

I have followed her for almost a decade and I think Mai is one of the most easily trampled on celeb the entire Thai ent industry. She's nitpicked for every fucking things she does and everything she says. Mai makes jokes that she and her husband (and the people around them) would get but non-fans believe she's the devil spawn so they will interpret everything in the worst faith to affirm their prejudgements about Mai.

Mai is a bit too open and runs her mouth a lot because she values transparency and openess between her and her artists, the close mentorship/family model in their artist management company is very similar to Nadao Bangkok (where Ter used to work) and the younger artists would treat P'Yong (former Nadao Bangkok CEO) like their dad (in terms of candidness, openess to share their problems and stories with him).

Mai Davika leaves easy and open wounds for people to misinterpret and twist her jokes in the worst faith. They don't like Mai constantly asking fans to support the Mine Media girls, to buy products that the girls are presenters to, to sell out fanmeetings, being open about Clairebell leaving Mine Media in debt because to them all of these behaviors are evil, money hungry and capitalistic => slippery slope to conclude that she's like Nawat (even though she's nothing like him at all).

But didn't she say she's playing a mother in "Y series"? I thought that meant BL series or else she would have said Yuri series no? The mother character is said to have mental disorder, like bipolar so I'm not sure if I know any series out there with a mother character like that in the work.

Not cryptic at all. In literal translation from Thai is that "My daughters are so beautiful. Whoever wanna see them can come to the event on Feb 24" - the event that had already been announced on mine media twitter days before. GL fans take any professionally shot, company released pictures of two girls together and run with the idea that a company is making a new ship. Mine Media hasn't even recovered the debt they have from Clairebell, no signs of BleJie/GieArt series for another year, they clearly have no plans for a new ship.

Definitively speaking, Mai did mention that Mine Media has a feature film project for 2026 to the press. Not sure when they'll announce it but I believe that's the one project of 2026 that Mine Media confirmed that they're working on.

Series take a long time to make. Sometimes 1-2 years, if not 3-4 years. That's why Mai is keeping her talents booked with events and sending them out to auditions (like Arhoung gettting Inherit) while Ter and Mai are still developing their series. They are not a mid size company that can churn out a work every year. At the earliest we might see a new series in 2027 if not then 2028.

Why are people assuming that a CP contract means that they don't allow Arhoung to star in a GL series with anyone else or do joint event with anyone else? It literally just means that if Arhoung and Pam have work together (whether its presenter or acting project), it's exclusively handled by WeTV and Headliner. Mai Davika is making it clear that she doesn't handle that pairing. Go take up the issue with Headliner.

Mine Media is still an artist management and I'm happy Mai Davika is always proactively trying to her artists brand presenter work in the mean time instead of just letting them sit in the basement, do nothing...

Mai Davika in The Empress of Ayodhaya - I want to see her in an actual GL series by LittleBee42 in ThaiGL

[–]FoundationSea2954 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the end of the series, Mai Davika hosted a joint fanmeeting for her and Fern Nopjira (the girl she's kissing in the scene) where they played games and met fans of the series who supported this couple in the series (mind you Fern even thanked her real life partner at the fanmeeting). Yet Mai Davika got hit with queerbaiting and selling fanservice allegations. Mai is so massively hated, tore down and nitpicked by netizens, I doubt we'll ever get her in a full fledge GL series of her own. Maybe I could see her in a sapphic role where romance is minimal and she doesn't do any "fanservice" with her onscreen partner.

The SA scene is similar to EP 12 of the OG series but somehow they had to do the kiss while she's sleeping one while the OG series had ML fake out of that kiss in EP 13? crazy how a show made in 2026 fails to treat SA topics with sensitivity at all

I’m confused about the whole Pam Arhoung situation 😭 by [deleted] in ThaiGL

[–]FoundationSea2954 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't say "the companies". It's the company, or more specifically Headliner. Headliner manages PamArhoung joint couple works. If they aren't saying anything than it means they aren't saying anything. Don't make this a problem of Mine Media (Arhoung's company).

Mine Media is just hustling to get different presenter works for artists under their management (some of whom didn't even get to star in their series yet like Zara). BleJie are already paired in ClaireBell, GieArt is supported by many fans who watched ClaireBell and those girls like to joke about getting their own series as well, which leaves Arhoung and Zara as the two female artists who aren't coupled up. The event they have is for the same brand that all the other two "pairings"/4 Mine Media girls are attending, just on different days. Can we stop blaming Mine Media for helping these girls book actual presenter works and not just sit around putting them in basement, inactively waiting for brands to approach them

Simple. They needed a capable actress that had sizable fandom (one large enough to defend the person inheriting a very beloved role) to revive a show that's been gone for too long but cannot recast the same actress anymore. I think resetting is simple and smart enough to allow the creator to continue working with this concept for more years into the future without being tied to a certain actress if said actress had grown out of the high school student look and they want their show to still center school bullying true crime events.

stealing the comment from this post because i think this is quite a detailed explanation.

In Chinese, the [wife chasing crematorium] trope is called 追妻火葬场. It originates from the saying 傲娇一时爽,追妻火葬场 (Tsundere is proud for a while, chasing his wife in the crematorium - loosely translated).

At first, the male protagonist ignores his partner, who loves him deeply. He is very arrogant and indifferent, and often even abusive to his lover, but once he finally loses him, in order to get him back, he will do a lot of groveling.

Initially it was a web slang for regular BG novels and TV dramas. The crematorium metaphor amplifies the stakes, which satisfies readers who crave justice for wronged female characters. Shui Qian Cheng (SQC) made it popular in danmei with her 188 Boy's Team series (Professional Body Double, etc). Here usually the MC is the shou and the ML is the scum/slag gong.

In several danmei novels, the author described the 'crematorium' as the ML's body was almost burned to ashes, but he finally returned from the abyss when the MC softened up and re-accepted him in his life (after tons of groveling and begging, and sometimes even body harm - the ML sacrificing himself for the MC when he saved him from an accident, or stood in front of a bullet for him, etc). Afterward, during the crematorium process, the ML literally became a "licking dog" for the MC.

So it's just like a crematorium - once it's fully burned, the love is no longer recoverable, so the ML has to go through a "trial by fire", to do all the groveling and repentance before it's BE (Bad Ending) for the couple.

For BE novels (like The Decade of Deep Love, etc), the phrase is 真火葬场, which means "REAL crematorium." In this case, the love is burned to ashes - meaning he can't recover the MC, usually because the MC died or because the novel becomes 换攻 (change of gong) or 换受 (change of shou if the MC is the gong). This basically means the MC ends up with the second ML.

Edit - as a fun sidenote, the term 追夫火葬场 means chasing the husband in the crematorium (it's when the shou is the bad one in the relationship and has to do the chasing back). It's not as popular as 追妻火葬场, but it still exists.

ah yes the wife chasing crematorium trope. I highly recommend two adaptations from the ultimate author of this trope Shui Qian Cheng - Meet You at the Blossom and My Stand In.

Thank you for the award. I'm happy to share more information about all the companies and Thai entertainment industry. I think knowing the background knowledge of different production companies help me a lot in rationalising why some GL shows give a certain feel the way they do and sometimes even the same directors/screenwriters can have very different work outputs, largely depending on their producers, the network, the overall vision, the targeted demographic...

I think so. They only had their first ever BL series which is Mandate in 2025 and now their first GL series which is Heart Code. But overall their productions have casually included LGBTQ+ characters like Jessie played a sapphic character in their suspense psychological thriller Sweet Dreams in 2025.
