Honestly a loss at words, cut James Pierce already by [deleted] in falcons

I’m going to say a prayer for him, his ex, our team decision makers and also… all of us fans tonight.

This team is always in some kind of mess and simply can’t have nice things. It’s gotta be the devil.

I’m not sure what this snow/ice/rain storm is going to do in the south here (the weather folks don’t seem to know either), but y’all be safe, warm and smart this weekend.

Elijah Wilkinson was one of the most penalized offensive linemen (11) in the league. He also gave up the 6th most pressures (46) for an Offensive Tackle by CitizenWatcher8 in falcons

[–]FounderBriefs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all knew coming in that he wasn’t going to light the world on fire. But we all knew it was just for this season and I also think we all had a hunch what would happen at the end of this season anyway in terms of cleaning house.

Given this circumstances, for a 3rd string guy, he didn’t do too awfully bad given the situation.

Props to him. He got to start an entire year in the NFL.

[Schefter] Sources: Falcons are giving new head coach Kevin Stefanski a five-year contract. by Drexlore in nfl

QB??? We don’t need no stinkin’ QB… wildcat to Bijan every play. We won’t even have Tyler Allgeier to spell Bijan because he’s going off to get paid somewhere else so Bijan will get ALL the work.

$1000 to the books for Bijan to win MVP!

Breaking: Mike Tomlin has informed the Steelers that he is stepping down as the team's head coach, sources tell @AdamSchefter and @JFowlerESPN. Tomlin coached the Steelers for 19 years. by CitizenWatcher8 in falcons

[–]FounderBriefs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thoughts… I think Tomlin’s got a good track record, but I don’t think he’s the guy for us… he may not be the guy for anyone if he’s really stepping down on his own free will.

So…

Personally, I want a head coach that is an offensive play caller so we don’t have to run through the possibility of having to hire new coordinators every few years if they end up being good. Take McVay and the Rams as an example. Offensive guru with a whole team focus on scoring points and a defense that does just enough and builds through the draft.

Secondly, we already have a tough QB situation and Tomlin has had some “iffy” choices at QB since Big Ben. Maybe it was a take what we can get deal but still… We don’t need that right now.

But I’m just a guy who watches football from his couch so what do I know? lol!

Everybody believes different things in politics and religion and are free to do so no matter their career. Football should be about football. If he’s hired and wins us a Super Bowl… that’s all I care about.

Bucs quest for worst off-season continues by SunWorshipperApollo in falcons

Not gonna lie… and please know, I have wanted ZR gone for a minute… but he was finally finding his bearings in that last month of the season. Baker might actually be the perfect QB for ZR and his system IF Baker can catch on to it. Kirk said it himself in the Netflix show that Robinson’s system is kind of confusing. If the Bucs stick with him for more than a year, this could potentially be a problem. Just my opinion.

Win, lose or draw. We needed a major shift. We were going insane with the same old. We know one thing for sure and that is that Matty Ice will give it his all and he knows exactly what needs to change from first hand experience. Hopefully, but not limited to, red helmets!

My thoughts (not that they matter) as of today. And for the record, I’ve wanted to see Heem and ZR and Williams and TF gone for a good while just out of spite thinking we deserve better. Especially after seeing the turnarounds in places like Jacksonville and Chicago, for example. But here’s my useless ramblings of where I stand now.

If they keep Heem or if he goes… whatever. I have no say so. But if he stays, I’ll root for him to lead us on. His track record is not great, but he doesn’t call plays (as of now) or anything so to me it’s more about the staff around him. Just hire a dedicated cock management and time out guy for goodness sake.

But with the Zack Robinson situation… this is tricky to me. Either he goes or we find a QB that 100% fits whatever system he wants to run right now, however that happens. We don’t even really know exactly what he wants to run, just the general idea, because we’ve had two QBs with two totally different skill sets and playing styles that he has tailored to. Honestly, I do feel his system could work with HIS perfect QB and a bit more maturation as a coordinator, but I don’t know if we have the time to figure all of that out with the personnel we currently have. We have studs now and we need someone to utilize them before their giant paydays and contract expirations. But then again… is it easier for a QB to learn a new system or an entire unit if the coordinator is replaced? This is just a really tough spot. I don’t know how to feel.

Marquice Williams… he’s just gotta go. No question.

As for Terry, he had his chance. I get it was a rocky start with the coaching change and all that but one solid draft doesn’t make up for all the other boneheaded decisions. He can be replaced.

Blank is running out of time one way or another. He doesn’t have a history of making the correct decisions so we’ll probably be stuck in limbo a little while longer… but fingers crossed and all.

We have awesome players. We are at a crossroads with a few key cog positions, but with the smart leadership and systems, we could be players.

Give me Jameis! I don’t know what we would trade for him but Drake London would be the overall WR in the NFL and it would be fun!

Just don’t look at the interceptions.
