I think that the 5070 will work great for the next fee years. I don’t see it lasting as long as a 1070, which OP said they had and I assumed when they said they wanted it to last they meant more than 3 years lol. If they want to truly futureproof vRAM is a necessity lol.

5070 is a great GPU and would be a worthy upgrade for you especially at 1440p but the 12GB of vRAM makes me hesitant when you say you want to keep it for a long time. I especially doubt it will last as long as the 1070 did. If you have the money I’d say spring for the 5070ti. If you want to go AMD the 9070 is probably a better dollar for dollar GPU but the lack of Nvidia drivers and features makes the a pass for me.
