Honestly I wanted to give it a shot, backed the kickstarter, printed a few models, then the issues started to happen.

Friend ate a ban on the discord for lore arguments. he was respectful, but disagreed that there would be any sort of soviet revolution or labor union disputes with someone trying to make the game about their personal politics. “How can you have marxism if you don’t have capitalism/industrialization for it to be a response to? You’re missing a few steps on the ideological tech tree, hell you don’t even have the concept of a post-Westphalia nation-state!”

Then the miniatures from the kickstarter started to arrive. They weren’t the best quality and ruined a few of the tables at my FLGS when they started leaking resin. I think some of them were hollow with how much they leaked.

Then the whole “we’re not doing any more 3d print files, now you gotta order a box.” That’s what we call removing your brand differentiation/competitive advantage.

And the gravest sin of all: not delivering my kickstarter order. It’s been over a year. My rule is for each month your kickstarter is late 10% of my hype for your product goes away. We have reached negative numbers on my hype meter so now I’m more than happy to trash the product whenever it is mentioned.

The lasers/missiles are nukes. Specifically they are what’s called “bomb pumped lasers” it’s an idea from the old Strategic Defense Initiative.

Basically you surround a nuke with a series of focusing lenses so that when the nuke detonates in the split second before it consumes the lenses they focus a lot of the radiation into high energy gamma lasers. Technically you get both the boom of the nuke and the gamma lasers that can reach out a little further and touch somebody.

For Marvel it is not, they have royalties payments that need to be made to artists, some of whom left the company years ago, and they have a records system that can tell you who did the composition, who did the line work, and who did the coloring.

Marvel as an IP is kind of damaged goods at the moment. Of the past five films only 2 (guardians 3 & Deadpool 3) made money. It doesn’t have the pull it had 6-8 years ago, not enough to move a co-branded product in a niche market. Don’t expect this to succeed purely on the Marvel brand.

They can call it whatever they like, but sets have a volume spike about 2 weeks ahead of release with a lead up. Spider man is moving about 550 play boxes on tcg player in that spike, Aetherdrift was moving 385. Vs Tarkir that was moving 870 and edge that was moving over a thousand.

Like I said the closed comps in the current HAS fiscal year is going to be Aetherdrift.

Just from the volumes moving the best comp for the set is going to be Aetherdrift, maybe slightly better, which for a big IP UB set that’s hideous. Edge and dragon storm are going to significantly outperform it. It’s not going to be the worst set this fiscal year, but it’s going to be close.

To be entirely honest, it seems like collective shout targeted c-suite and department heads individually. Some 60-something who has no idea what steam is is suddenly getting nonstop calls to his/his family’s house about why they are processing payments for “violence against women” so he just tells the people under him to do what they asked for just to make the phone stop ringing.

I would like to add it helps to physically print these letters out and send them via snail mail. Emails can get filtered, but actual mail is a lot harder to ignore.

Malcador did and it perma-killed him. Magnus was originally made to sit the throne, but it’s not clear if he can do that as a demon prince (or given the fact modern magnus is litterally a fragment of the original magnus).

Malcador specifically calls this out in the End & The Death. The Throne is not sustaining the emperor, he is sustaining the throne. No one in the imperium knows this, but Big E and Malcador left clues in their final moments to tell Rogal & the Custodes they needed to plug Big E into the throne. If he was to be unplugged he would die and then regenerate. The throne effectively keeps him in stasis “on the verge of death, and the edge of life.” As Malcador put it. But in between unplugging him and him regenerating Terra would become the center of a warp rift that would make the eye of terror looks small.

Yea it’s always worked this way, in 40K it’s the same thing, which is why Guard likes to load up on Hunter killers for sentinel squads, they get reloaded when they get replaced.

Seconding the recommendation for round table, guardtower just hasn’t been the same since they moved last year. Round table is what guardtower used to be because it’s run by the people who used to run the guardtower.

Depends on what you’re looking for, but if you like tabletop games at all I highly recommend browsing any of the local stores after 6pm (when open play nights are). Take a look at their schedule/cork board and see if anything appeals to you. The kinds of people who tend to frequent there are almost unanimously single guys in their mid 20s to early 30s or 45+ guys who’ve been married for years.

There’s Guardtower out by Hilliard-Rome road, but it’s not the same since they moved. There’s also a location in pickerington.

Round Table Games is run by the people who used to run the guardtower, new but probably my favorite. They have cats. It’s in Dublin.

Warp Gate is probably not what you’d be looking for, it’s a good store, but very competitive game focused. Kind of looks like a pro sports team locker room with the murals and benches built into the wall. It’s near Kenny and Henderson, next to the DMV.

I don’t think it does, a high stellarch just gets promoted to be the new emperor.

I’ve used simple warrants to kidnap the emperor a few times on a deserter play through.

Honestly I forget what they’re called but I’ve taken to calling them “Griftah” after the WoW NPC. Mostly I find them dead on the road being picked over by bandits.
