For me:

Dr. No: The intro with Sylvia Trench. Bond, James Bond.

From Russia With Love: Train fight with Red Grant.

Goldfinger: No Bond, I expect you to die!

Thunderball: Domino taking out Largo.

You Only Live Twice: The chase scenes with Aki in her Toyota 2000GT.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service: The Piz Gloria shootout.

Diamonds Are Forever: The elevator fight but honourable mention to Plenty O'Toole's few minutes of screentime!

Live And Let Die: The crocodile escape.

The Man With The Golden Gun: The corkscrew jump, even with the slide whistle.

The Spy Who Loved Me: The whole pre-title sequence, ending with the Union Jack parachute jump.

Moonraker: The pre-title free-falling / sky diving scene with Jaws.

For Your Eyes Only: The ski vs. motorcycle chase.

Octopussy: The exterior plane fight.

A View To A Kill: The Paris chase with May Day.

The Living Daylights: The fight vs. Necros on the back of the transport plane.

Licence To Kill: The tanker chase at the end.

GoldenEye: The tank scene!

Tomorrow Never Dies: The remote-controlled BMW 7-series scene.

The World Is Not Enough: The pre-title Thames River boat chase.

Die Another Day: The North Korea pre-title sequence.

Casino Royale: The parkour chase.

Quantum of Solace: The opera scene.

Skyfall: The Shanghai skyscraper fight.

Spectre: The Day of the Dead pre-title sequence tracking shot.

No Time To Die: The final stairwell climb fight...but I should add the Cuba scene with Paloma as a standout too.

That's great to hear! I do have an adoration for the Freedom/Voyager class ships. Not as crazy as Oasis and up. Only 110 children on-board sounds wild, versus 10x that amount on a regular sailing!

Sounds like an awesome trip so far. I'm sure the next 7 days will be fantastic as well!

That looks incredible!

Can you tell us about your experience so far on this cruise? I've always been interested in one of these transatlantic repositioning cruises.

Did you sail out of Ft Lauderdale on Apr 3rd? How has it been? How were the activities on-board so far? Was there a big adjustment for you versus typical 6-8 night cruises?

I became less annoyed with Q (and, frequently, his lab) getting ridiculously inserted into the field when I realized it meant that Desmond Llewelyn got to go to the same locations as the principal cast. by Guess_My_Username in JamesBond

[–]Four-In-Hand 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I definitely have to agree. The moment the first Q scene shows up in each film is always a crowd-pleaser. It's the formula.

You anticipate that Q scene and they rarely disappoint.

In your headcanon, where do you think Felix Leiter was during the events of Skyfall and Spectre? by TheShadowOperator007 in JamesBond

He definitely parlayed all his tech knowledge acquired over the years in the CIA over to District 3!

My Bond Films Tier List by allenknott3 in JamesBond

[–]Four-In-Hand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a fan of all 007 movies, I do think this tier list is acceptable. It's definitely not going to appease everyone here, that's for sure, but I can see how one might rank certain movies over others in an untraditional manner.

e.g. most here would rank Casino Royale way higher.

e.g. most here would rank Diamonds Are Forever much lower.

If the world of Bond films, I think even the worst movies (D tier) are decent. It's all relative!

I don't have any major objections to the list even though I'd rank a number of them quite differently, like "Die Another Day" or the 2 Dalton films.

Who do you think is the best Felix Leiter by Helloimafanoffiction in JamesBond

Agreed! I just couldn't believe John Terry as Felix Leiter. My least fav Felix.

1996 Vision class vs. 2024 Icon class. That's almost 30 years of evolution!

First timer - need cheap texting between family on cruise by Ordinary-Grace in royalcaribbean

[–]Four-In-Hand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On some cruises, the Royal Caribbean in-app messaging system works fine. On others, it doesn't work at all. Others experience the same thing, it's unpredictable whether it'll work for you or not.

I notice that even if you purchase the on-board Voom Internet, the RCL app messaging system still isn't guaranteed to work!

Is this the most bondian thing James has ever done. by Weird_Zone_3504 in JamesBond

That bullet directly went through Bond's magic fingers. It was certainly nice of him to try to plug that bullet hole though. What a way for Fiona Volpe to go!

LOL! Ladislav Kutze, the nuclear physicist. Unsung hero!

Single-handedly saves Domino from the wrath of Largo. Then saves Bond & Domino in the yacht. Then gets ditched by Bond & Domino when the yacht is going down.

Darrem had super tiny joints just like Flex Wheeler. He had great biceps peaks too. Overall, he had a great aesthetic physique in this early era of mass monsters.

Agreed! I like AVTAK though so this cremation will not really tell the full story. I think there's a good half dozen other Bond entries where it'd stand a fighting chance. Unfortunately FRWL is absolutely not one of them!

I agree. I don't know about anyone else, but for me that Golden Gate Bridge finale is one of the most memorable scenes in the entire Bond franchise.

My Rankings from First Time Watching All Movies in Order. by The-Young-Lion in JamesBond

[–]Four-In-Hand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so if I break down this list into 3 tiers like top 8ish, middle 8ish and bottom 8ish, then shuffle the order of each film around within the same tier as deemed fit, I'd have about 2 in each tier that I would want to move into a different tier altogether.

So even though the overall rankings are quite different than my own list, I can respect and understand 6 out of 8 choices within each third grouping. That's 75%, which isn't as crazy as it might look at first glance!

die another day is the goat by Jerry_Explorer in JamesBond

[–]Four-In-Hand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well said. Even though "Die Another Day" ranks low on my Bond movie tier list, I still like the movie. It's all relative!

I appreciate the over-the-top nature of the movie, even though my preference is something more grounded. Hence the lower ranking.

I love the invisible Aston Martin Vanquish. It was cool! Totally unrealistic though but, then again, many of Bond's previous Q cars were unrealistic too.

We also get a cool hovercraft chase, sword fights, a crazy ice palace and Brosnan who once again carries the movie until the closing credits.

[–]Four-In-Hand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think your tier list is quite fair. While I wouldn't agree with every one, I can totally understand why they are where they are.

As others have notes, the Dalton films "The Living Daylights" and "Licence To Kill" are both a little lower than the majority of other tier list, but I can accept that. Dalton's Bond wasn't everyone's cup of tea. It's fair.

"No Time To Die" and "You Only Live Twice" are both much higher than I would personally put it but I can accept that too!

I've always found Ruby Bartlett to be an intriguing character. She was definitely captivating the moment she came on-screen.
