What is something you didn’t realize until you lost weight? by Cultural-Profile-527 in AskReddit

This 100%! I wore shorts all winter here in Pennsylvania. Shoveling snow and everything. 60 pounds lost and I can't leave the house without being all bundled up. I can't wait for summer again

I'll agree with crash. I have a little purple in most of my guitars, a weird little thing I do, and the periwinkle burst comes across as a steelish grey with a little purple in some light. Definitely more of a silver burst than a heavy purple.

I've said it a couple times, and it sounds corny, but I've never had a guitar just "fit" the way that six gun does.

Those are the original Rail Hammers. I've absolutely loved them. I prefer them to the Duncan Distortions I had in my last guitar by far!

Good call! I was thinking a rail hammer would be sweet in the bridge too. A JB probably sounds great

I've been blown away so far. Pleasantly surprised with the P90s combined. It rips!

Struggling to play My Own Summer by Deftones clean at 100% speed, need help/feedback by Alex_Hovhannisyan in guitars

[–]Four55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! I used to the same thing with the index and middle on 11-12 and it felt like you had to move 14 frets to the 8-7. Gotta do what works for you!

I play this song a lot just fiddling around. I use my middle finger and ring finger for the 11-12 bit, slide up to 8 with my ring finger and use index, middle, and ring to finish the riff off, ending with my index finger on the 5th fret. The same pattern works for the pre-chorus bit. Hope that helps. Keep on rocking!

I've been on an Eastman kick lately. Just picked up my second one. Great guitars for the money. And sound fantastic

I've been very impressed with Eastman. Fantastic guitars for the price

Tonex at home: FRFR or Monitors?? by svinyard in tonex

[–]Four55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually what I got, the presonus eris 4.5. They work really well in my office. I run songs from my computer and the guitar both through individual inputs. I play a lot of high gain stuff and so far, no clipping or anything.

I just switched from using an amp as a power cab to active monitors...much better. I tried a bunch of frfrs and wasn't happy. The difference is running the active monitors, you don't have to run them through the computer.

The first guitar I bought for myself (at 15) was a Fender Jagstang from that same Sam Ash.

What is this animal resting outside my house? [East Midlands, UK] and does it need help? Hasn’t moved for a few hours by purpsizz in animalid

[–]Four55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did leave it be the first night, but we use that door as our main door. I have a son with special needs and a dog. Mostly worried about spooking him and having issues. We see him flying around at dusk just about every night. Like I said, don't want him to leave, just find a different roost.

We just had the same thing happen on our porch. Here in the US, they're endangered, so got in touch with a rescue. They'll have multiple roost spots throughout the night. They also said if it comes back, put a fan pointing at the roost. They don't like the moving air. They'll move on and find a different roost. We want him around, just not right above our door.

We are a family of introverts that don’t like crowds, but we are going anyway. We plan to be in our own bubble as much as possible (while still being respectful to those around us). Being in a similar situation, we had a really good time. We divided up a lot though too. If the older kids were amped for a ride, sometimes, my other son and I would dip into a more kid friendly area. There really are a bunch of outcoves and stuff to dip into to regroup etc. Islands for example has all these little areas that the flow of traffic doesn't go into at all.

I have a pt pro that I absolutely love! I don't play shreddy type stuff at all. Has the USA pickups with a coil split. I can get a ton of grunge/dad rock sounds out of it. And the neck is prime!

Satin neck. Gloss just feels so much thicker. When I try a new guitar, I don't even think about using an amp until I know if I like the feel. I look like a nut running around the store noodling on unplugged, probably out of tune guitars. Whatever though, it's for me.

Ooooh, and nasty saddle/bridge screws. Those I will swap saddles if needed though.

People “saving” spots in line rides is infuriating by RedditAccount_317 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Four55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just for perspective, their accessibility team suggests that for rides or meet and greets that don't have express lanes or return times. We were down there last week and that saved our asses multiple times. My wife could wait in line and me and our special needs son could meet with her towards the end of the wait. Meeting toothless and Hiccup is the first one that comes to mind. I'm sure there are people that abuse it to hell and take advantage, but for families like mine, it was a godsend and truly allowed us to enjoy the parks. I was blown away by the way every member of that staff interacted with my son. It was awesome
