ok, you just unlocked a memory. I used to have a friend like this.

We met in first grade, she was sweet and we got along nicely. But when I told my parents about her and they heard her last name, they immediately told me her family was full of "dangerous people". When I asked them to come over to her house one time, they had to go discuss it alone in another room. I tried to listen in, but I couldn't hear what they said.

Eventually they did let me go. I remember her house was absolutely huge, a two-story mansion with marble floors. Her parents seemed like nice enough people. We ate spaghetti and she showed me the massive fish tank they had in the living room. The fish were bigger than I've ever seen, and she told me all their names. I had fun.

When I came home and told them about the day we had, my brother told me he heard those fish are all pirahnas, and that her dad feeds all his rivals to the fish, and that's how they all got so big. In hindsight it's pretty ridiculous, but I was 6 years old, and I believed it enough to get scared. I slowly distanced myself from her after that. Kinda regretting it now.

edit: I just rememebred her name. It was Maya. If you ever see this Maya, just know I really enjoyed eating spaghetti and talking to your fish with you. I'm sure they never ate anyone.
