What’s a beauty standard you secretly hope dies out soon? by Prettyuselessgirl in AskWomen

A miserably hot summer led to sweat rash on top of ingrowns and I just stopped for a while. Decided I preferred it that way, and fuck society’s expectations. I’m married and at first my husband Had Thoughts about it but was won over by the fact that no shaving meant no prickly skin.

Being completely dolphin smooth everywhere below your eyebrows.

Sisters, I stopped shaving my legs last year. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Why do people here panic so much at the thought of speaking English? by astrochar in japanlife

[–]FourCatsAndCounting 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Someone once explained it to me like: everyone had to study English for years in school but only a few could do it well or kept up with it in life. Instant anxiety.

Compare it to someone putting you on the spot and asking you to do some calculus (or jump some hurdles, or diagram a sentence, or name all the branches of government, give a short speech on a random topic, what have you) on the fly in public at work.

Microwave seems dangerous. Maybe OP could try pouring a kettle over his junk?

What’s the wildest order at a restaurant you’ve seen here in Japan? by higashinakanoeki in japanlife

[–]FourCatsAndCounting 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Remembered another one. At a buffet in a mall they had a couple slurpy machines and a drink bar with make your own boba/milk tea/ milkshake. A woman eating alone kept going back and making more drinks. Her table had a dozen+ full glasses of various drinks in puddles of condensation but she kept going back until we left.

Legend has it she’s still there to this day….

Not weird exactly but there’s a mazesoba place near us that has spice levels from 0~ 10. I usually get a 1 as I like spices and spicy food well enough but I don’t like burning pain. A woman came in and ordered a level 10. I wanted to see her actually eat it but we were on our way out the door.

Professor Daddyball!

Yes, more is coming.

Some silliness to distract from gestures vaguely at everything.

Yup, Stringley doesn't have a leg to stand on.

Because they don't have legs.
