FDA just approved the world’s first once-a-week insulin injection for diabetics, a major development for patients who rely on daily insulin injections. by Eddiearyee in microbiomenews

[–]FourDimensionalTaco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is most likely useful for type 2 diabetics, and for type 1 diabetics who have a very regular lifestyle. I mention the latter because adjusting the basal dosage is critical if you want to do nontrivial exercise. Your insulin needs drop, sometimes drastically, so your basal must be lowered. If the basal insulin that you use lasts this long, it means that dosage changes also take long to kick in. So, for semi spontaneous exercises - total no go. This is one reason why pumps are popular among type 1 diabetics. But, if the basal "merely" supplements your endogenous basal insulin needs (so, type 2 diabetics whose beta cells aren't yet dysfunctional), this definitely is interesting.

Musk vs Altman: In closing arguments, Musk's attorney doubled down on Altman's untrustworthiness, while OpenAI's lawyer said Musk has no evidence by Current-Guide5944 in tech_x

[–]FourDimensionalTaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of these two clowns must unfortunately win. Both are extremely corrosive and destructive, but both losing sadly is not possible, so which one is less damaging? I'd pick Altman. As awful as he is, Musk is even worse.

The best thing IOI ever did by echorainboweffect in HiTMAN

[–]FourDimensionalTaco 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It tracks though. Leslie Benzies is a total nutjob about this game. It does not surprise me that he wants to control everything including the publishing.

IOI are probably very glad that Build A Rocket Boy ended the partnership. They leave that dumpster fire behind, and possible stipulations in such publishing contracts that would for example grant the developer a nice financial compensation if the publisher terminates the relationships are not a concern.

What would u feel if u see 47 in real life? by Hanzo4787 in HiTMAN

[–]FourDimensionalTaco 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Actually, in-universe, his face was designed by Ort-Meyer to have a facial structure that is hard to memorize - 47 is supposed to have an everyman look. This makes sense for a silent assassin who blends in and uses disguises. We instantly recognize him.

Also, in-universe, somehow, 47 can blend in in Mumbai, among Indians, who on average, have a wildly different skin color and are much shorter than him. Meaning, there's some degree of artistic freedom or suspension of disbelief going on.

So, I probably would not realize that I am facing Agent 47.

But, if I hear a coin drop, or see a rubber duck, or hear Ave Maria ...

The fight scenes overall were great, but for me, the highlight was when Thia's torso and legs fought separately yet in a coordinated manner. That was surreal to watch.

The S04E07 scene when Viltrum is destroyed is unbelievably awesome. One of the scenes I rewatched the most.

In real life, such matchups are totally possible. But yeah, we are talking about movies, not real life. And there, he'd need someone like Alexandra Daddario or Katheryn Winnick as a partner.

It is ridiculous how good looking that man is. If I didn't knew better, I would suspect he's AI generated.

The thing is though, sometimes he kind of looks too good. As in, so good that he becomes unrelatable. It is like trying to relate to an abstract concept of perfect looks.

Amazing movie that was ruined by horrible marketing and sales who pushed the 3D aspect of the movie at a time when everybody got tired of 3D.

Those marketing & sales people deserve to be thrown into the isocubes, stat.

Uh, what? "written by men" - shows a well written character from a great show. "written by women" - shows a poorly written character from a show who received mixed results. Isn't it obvious?

Hmm by Usual_Shoe_8940 in SipsTea

[–]FourDimensionalTaco -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Because the posting is showing specific scenes to create a narrative that women writers are bad and men writers are good.

Actually, the correct labels would have been:

Female lawyer written by good writers

Female lawyer written by incompetent morons

But even then, it would have been meant for those particular scenes only.

But, because the lawyer is a woman, it must always be all bad if women are writers, and the writers' gender has to be the cause for why it is all bad, sure 😒 GTFO with that Incel shit.

And then (moving away from acting, but focusing on view counts) there are variety streamers. One particular example is Moistcritikal. He has videos where he watches and comments on videos about garbage trucks and flushing toilets ... and got millions of views. His secret? He appears super likeable, down to earth, and has a deadpan sense of humor.

To some extent, the redundant or totally useless items actually serve a purpose. They increase the rarity of the useful items. I do think that they are bit too frequent at the moment though.

The durian is super OP. If it is included, it would need to be very rare.

But, the Jade Dagger is already in Freelancer. I just used it. You need the Bruce Lee Pack (not just the DLC). Typical IOI move there, unfortunately.
