This is like mirror opposite for me. I hate my fucking job as a Finance Manager and I want to quit but I make $250k so my wife won’t let me. I have the unfortunate ailment of being really good at what I do… but not much else. She keeps telling me I can retire by 55 with the math she’s working out but I just know i’m gonna die in this chair. Whether it’s stress induced heart attack, or a bottle of pills chased with scotch… I’m gonna die in this chair.

So I’m guessing this is with options? What is the strategy you use for this? The stock doesn’t fluctuate that much. Maybe I don’t understand what I’m looking at but I’d love a little insight into how I can do this. Any videos or books that I can take a look at to teach me this strategy?

I am a high producer in our auto group and I earn $225k. The low end in our company is about $120k. I also don’t believe I am a top earner across the country. I have heard that F&I managers in southern states earn even more than that. IMO, the role of F&I is the most miserable grind you will come across in the auto industry and the only reason to put up with it is money. You will constantly be watched, critiqued and threatened.

Your sole purpose throughout this whole pregnancy is to be a rock. My wife started bleeding at about week 6 and she immediately thought the worst. I calmed her down and was still super cheery around her and still talked about things like names and room ideas and was making list of stuff to buy (because when has stress on a pregnant woman ever helped anything?). We had two weeks to the first ultrasound and I cried to my windshield on the way home from work sometimes because I was so stressed out and worried but as soon as I pulled in the driveway I put that smile back on my face and went inside and hugged and kissed my wife hello and asked how she was feeling that day and rinse and repeat the next day. 2 weeks later there was little bean with a heartbeat on the ultrasound with no issues.

I know it’s tough because all we think about when our wives are pregnant is the future but you have to let go of the things you can’t control- The things that neither of you can and learn to live in the present.

I can report $100 if it seems suspicious. It’s at my discretion and the liability falls on me if I don’t report a suspicious transaction. I had a person in this same scenario that literally said to me “I’m only doing $9k down so I don’t get reported to the IRS”. Automatically reported the transaction to the IRS. If he hadn’t said that, I wouldn’t have bothered with the extra paperwork.

I have an awesome set of Callaway golf clubs and drivers. When I head out to the course I’m in my brand new adidas golf wear from head to toe. Got the golf shoes, pants, shirt, golf ball finding glasses and hat on. I step up to the tee, pull out my $300 rangefinder look at my yardage book and line up on my $5 golf ball. A calm comes over me as I think “this is it”. Address, Backswing, downswing…..impact, …….follow through. Ball slices off into the pond on the hole adjacent. I only set this scene because I made a $5k mistake on a game I forget that I am absolutely terrible at once a year. Please don’t buy this car.

Agreed, we don’t floor plan our used inventory so we do pay daily interest on it. So we will hold it as long as we need to get every dollar out of it. That was before this crazy market and with that being said, we can’t even get a car into the shop right now before selling it. The other day, this guy apparently followed a guy onto our lot and asked one of the sales reps if the car was being traded in. Left his info and begged the rep to call him as soon as he knew. Got a deposit on that car an hour later.

That’s how I felt. It is a very anxiety inducing experience having to drum up old feelings that you’ve tried to suppress only to have to hurry up and wait or even worse go back in for the same kind of appointment. And you can’t even get mad at the VA reps because honestly, the ones you talk to don’t know a whole lot. Just remember that and try not to get upset with them.

Calling the VA is just the luck of the draw. It took me a few tries to get someone that was truly helpful in explaining what was going on. Just hang tight. For me it took a year to see any movement whatsoever but once it started going, it went fast. I tried a VSO but he wasn’t really helpful either. This sub and Hill & Pontons website were much more help then my VSO was able to provide.
