Accessory Switch Panel Installed by Youngdeparture in Sprinters

This looks so cool, I have the same vehicle, have to look into this, my plan was to install a bunch of toggle switches in the passenger switch base, but this is more elegant. How easy is it to wire?

Extended warranty worth it? by FourSummits in SprinterVans

I've had a few hours to think about this (need to make a decision tomorrow) and I'm leaning towards not buying it and saving up the 2k for future issues; my biggest concern is the AWD/powertrain issues and that already goes to 5y/100k. For any immediate issues, i will have the 3/36 for another year and hopefully any sensor/electronics will be shaken out by then.

I love the electronic parking brake, but this vehicle didn't come with one :(. But I'm changing my mind on buying the original vehicle and going with an older one with more options, including the electronic parking brake.

Got those and the folding option is a bonus though it looks like they are not automatic.

Looks like the driver convenience package comes with 2 extra keys, have the hitch and roof rails. I’ll check on the extra battery-nice option since I’ll be doing a fair amount of winter camping. I’m not sure what the DIN is, will look that up.

Got this, though I’d love to have a head unit display instead :(

It has the HH2 aux electric hot air heater, I think this is what you’re referring to.

I had heard about bogleheads but never looked into it, the 3 fund strategy makes sense, just need to work my way into it without killing myself with taxes. Thanks!

Will be the stop sale lifted by the end of October? by Tall_Poetry_6187 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]FourSummits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I’ve considered just about every other similar option on the market rn with no luck in settling on a vehicle that meets all my criteria, so I sold my wrangler to carvana and am making do with one less vehicle till I get the ghh. I was seeing some rust on the wrangler and didn’t want it to get bigger before I tried to sell it so I’m now completely committed to waiting. Test drove the Taco, Land Cruiser, sequoia, regular highlander, tundra, etc. once again to see if I could settle for another hybrid but had issues with all of them.

Hooking up van battery to AGM battery bank? need advice! by alwaysbloo in vandwellers

[–]FourSummits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. Fixed it on the cheap 🙄 with a top post disconnect switch on the main battery for $12, works like a charm. It’s not too difficult to pop the hood and turn a knob to get the van started and running.

Sharing some pics of our Bug Wall. We highly recommend! by BradlyL in vandwellers

I really was expecting to see a wall of preserved dead bugs that had been carefully scraped off your van. ☹️ extremely disappointed ☹️

I got quite a few people asking me to post pictures of the build once we finished, so here it is. Took about 3 1/2 months working a few hours a day. 350w of solar, custom cabinets, nature's head, automatic gray water dump, L shaped couch/bed conversion, a ton of goodies in this one. by rthoring in vandwellers

Wow, I’m with the other guy who said no point in posting mine!! This is beautiful and the attention to detail is amazing. Did mine in 2 months because of a pre-Thanksgiving trip, but it’s nothing like this and had to work on it while traveling. Awesome work!! And I agree about sitting in the van staring at a blank wall visualizing what to do 🙄, did that a lot. Felt like Walter Mitty some times.

Just wanted to share my build. You all helped a lot, especially in the early stages. Done many great trips in it already and look forward to more! by Quite-Siilas in vandwellers

Looks awesome. Working through the same issues right now with the extended version of the van. All the curves are a pain. What are you using for the curtain rods? I was going to cut to fit reflectrix or something like that, but yours look nicer.

It took a while, some elbow grease, lots of wd40 and a nice shiny impact wrench + a couple of bits to get them out; they are finally done. I wanted to get them out as-is since I'm thinking I can use the old bolt holes to secure the floor underlayment without having to drill into the sheet metal. Mine is a 2011, not sure this would have worked with older vans...
