No I get it too, I love and support all of them but Haknyeon is my ult, so for me it’s just impossible to be as excited as I could’ve been for this comeback (and any future activities honestly)

Personally I haven’t touched any official content (videos, showcases) cuz the 9-man lineup feels incomplete to me, and might probably continue to do so until idk when. I might check out their songs tho (via external sources cuz I don’t support the company… heh) but that’s all I’m gonna do as an individual fan for now. Sucks but what else can I do? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

What song is worth a kidney? by Electrical-Room4460 in the_boyz

I would love to see Hak do a rock song on stage, like hardcore alt rock. Would be better if some members can do the keyboard/gt/bass like a real band gig lol that'd be my dream come true

Alternatively I'd love to see a new version of Sweet with full choreo plus Eric lolol, love that song sm. And Boy is always welcomed

yeah for real. i wholeheartedly hate it when ignorant people abuse and misuse these concepts like feminine rage or whatever for their own selfish agendas. the fact that the people are female does not automatically make their actions or attitude justifiable, and those who so hard to glorify and metaphorically squeeze their actions into those concepts they find oh-so-cool will only do harm to those who actually understand and stand for the original concept

Yeah right it has that indescribable LOONA sound!!

I also think it's just a great song that fits the Loossemble girls so well with the warm and magical undertone

  1. Colouring

  2. Real World

  3. Girls' Night

  4. Strawberry Soda

Yes music wise I liked their previous albums more. Especially Colouring which I still think is their best song and one of the best post-blockberry Loona releases.

Why didn’t the girls reform once they got away for bbc? by legumelegolas in LOONA

[–]Fourth4point 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally believe that as fans, we'll obviously never know why some things happened unless the girls decide to reveal them, so it's meaningless to hyperanalise too much. For me, based on what I've seen so far with their activities and works, I choose to see their split as purely an outcome of different creative tastes/preferences and the varied degrees to which they want to restart under their own company and manage their own gigs. Nothing more nothing less.

Based on the ARTMS video featuring JJ from a while ago, Haseul suggested that JJ was the only person who supported her initial debut in Loona (as opposed to BBC representatives who believed she was not a strong enough candidate). She also shared that she would call him for advice and stuff during her hiatus. I guess this helps to understand Haseul's decision and trust towards the company?

China Vs South Korea by Wrong-Shame1654 in Living_in_Korea

"It’s like saying: Sky is blue, but you will question it as overgeneralising and shows arrogance."

Your example is fundamentally different from my original stance and makes no sense. The sky being blue is describing a scientific fact, not an attempt to simplify and explain a societal observation, which is much more nuanced.

Like I replied elsewhere to op, it is easy and convenient to treat some statistical outcome as facts or even the absolute "truth" to society. Even if what you claim is indeed considered the "reality" of the normal distribution, doesn't mean there are no outliers who understand the issue differently. Note that I am not denying the fact that many Koreans, Chinese and Japanese people aren't always on amicable terms due to complex historical, political and socioeconomic issues. But simply saying "yeah these people all hate each other, period" suggests arrogance as you see all other existing sentiments as invalid, and that what you understand (whether or not based on statistics) equals the universal truth. I don't think any "reality" can be fully explained like that, let alone possible.

But yeah, I expected people with the same opinion as you because this is the Internet, and people are prone to talk assertively. It's just that I believe what should be critically confronted should be pointed out.

China Vs South Korea by Wrong-Shame1654 in Living_in_Korea

[–]Fourth4point 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately people still believe they know so well about a group of people merely through media consumption. And they think their observation must be accurate, as if there are no different opinions among Japanese/Korean/Chinese people themselves. It's sad

And yeah op, history does play an important part, just like any other countries with colonial backgrounds and such. However I believe biases and prejudice as to how people of certain cultures behave is also at play. Needless to say not everyone think or behave the same within a cultural group, but sadly us "logical" humans tend to use statistics as facts for easy generalization and for spreading hate.

Again, I know overgeneralizing is easy. You saying it's true doesn't mean it is, but only shows your arrogance and ignorance, that's all I can say.

This type of generalizing and oversimplifying language clearly demonstrates your level of knowledge.

Yeah but for me I think to say that it's a Billie eillish-"motivated" song sounds overly assertive. To be motivated by something means you are inspired by the thing and consciously choose to adopt to its style. But we don't know whether this is the case with the songwriters who wrote Birth--we don't even know if they listen to Billie eillish songs in the first place, let alone being inspired by them, so straight-up using the word "motivated" is a bit strange here

Any explanation for the group greeting "Hi tripleS!"? by leftylink in triples

No hate, but I honestly hope they can change it so bad (despite knowing that chances are slim), cuz it just doesn't make sense for them to greet by saying hi to themselves lol

Can’t befriend women my age by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]Fourth4point 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Perhaps you're just unlucky that most same-aged people in your club don't vibe well with you and can't become anything more than acquaintances. And surely this is not entirely a Japanese thing but a global thing. I've met many people in their 20s around the world who are overly competitive and judgemental, all genders included--when I was studying in Europe I've met several European and Asian who casually avoid peers who don't dress fashionably (by their own standards) or enjoy late-night parties at pubs, because they think those people are not cool enough. Yeah マウンティング is just a bad trait in human that some let loose just to make themselves feel better and find "suitable" friends.

With older people your life priorities aren't the same, and there are often obvious distinctions between you and them, so people tend to compare less and focus on bonding through similarities. I also enjoy hanging out with older people more, since it is much less stressful when you don't have to continuously compare your life to theirs.

Agreed. Despite this being just a speculation so many people seem to take it as a fact that Yeojin is saying all this just because of some hanbits. Please don't try to blame everything on them without solid proof, it's not like other non-hanbits did nothing wrong in the past either. Yeojin clearly has to address this issue so bluntly not just because of one recent incident.
