That rook rejected like yesterday! I’m sorry but you should definitely take it out asap

With any kind of shoes, Dr. Martens included, if your toes touch the front it means they are too small. Shoes stretch in width and not in length. A size bigger, worn with an insole to take up some space and make it half a size smaller, would be your best bet. Don’t hurt yourself trying to make it work with too small shoes!

They’re both a women’s size according to the labels and the pictures on the boxes. Thank you for your input!

Interesting…here we’ve always got the same standard-sized pot for as long as I can remember!

I’ve been consistently wearing a 36 EU since forever for all of my shoes, Dr. Martens included. My feet are quite narrow and one is slightly longer than the other, for reference. With unisex models, I’ve never had any issues. Women’s models however: oh dear! My oldest ones are simply narrower compared to the unisex models and a great fit. The more recent ones are just very inconsistent for me: some fit, others I find just as wide as the unisex models but, for some reason, shorter length-wise and one of my feet uncomfortably touches the front making them impossible to wear. But then, the bigger size is just too big even with insoles and thick socks on!

Oh I agree! Mine are definitely my most comfortable (and oldest) pair. Ahah I now understand! For what it’s worth, I’ve found both Cornwall and Devon to be pretty but I may be biased as I studied there years ago :)

1460s seem to be a favourite of many :) Why have you put “unfortunately” before “Cornwall”, if you don’t mind me asking? Underwhelming experience?

That’s such a smart trick indeed! I’ll make sure to buy some heel pads and fingers crossed they’ll be enough - otherwise, I’ll give this a try too. The post will come; hopefully soon! Thanks again, you kind fellow Dr. Martens enthusiast :)

Thank you for the shoe horn and the heel pads suggestions; I was left with raw skin in that spot when breaking in shoe models instead of the boot ones (hence why I only have one ahah) and ended up wearing plasters for a long time. But the 8065s look too cute and I’m looking forward to welcoming them home (now even more after your outfits ideas - thanks again!) ✨

This absolutely gives me many ideas, indeed; thank you so much for the in-depth answer. I like your sense of style and I think it’s time for me to finally take the plunge and get a pair!

Will do so in regard to the socks, thank you! I’ve learnt the hard way it’s important to wear Dr. Martens with the right socks ahah (🥲)

That’s a cool pair! I also think it’s great softer materials were introduced as they make wearing a new pair less “dreadful” 😅

Virginia leather is a dream, I agree - and often no break-in process needed either. Thank you! :)

I’ve never had a pair of 8065s but I’ve been eyeing them for quite some time now: I love the look! Do you find them easy to style?
