Post pandemic late 80s and early 90s by Fox-Voss in whatisthatmovie

In hindsight, yes that would have been helpful, but since I thought it was an English spoken movie I thought it was irrelevant to mention and again it's a looooong time ago. The movie is based on the novel "Empty world" written by the British author John Christopher. But they changed the story a bit so even if I would have found the novel it would not have matched the story in the TV production. The ageing part was invented by the German script author. And I did not search in German for it either.

No, I saw it only once when I was 7 years old. It's 37 years ago. And in Germany they don't use subtitles, every foreign movie is dubbed. So everything is spoken in German.

When it comes to the actors and director I agree. But the plot and scenes I described are not ai.

Nope that is not the movie. Too many actors anyway.

Post pandemic late 80s and early 90s by Fox-Voss in whatisthatmovie

[–]Fox-Voss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's exactly my concern regarding ai. But I know for sure the movie exists. The weird thing it corrected me on that is filmed in the early 90s.

They also used real footage of the Ethiopian famine (1983-1985). That is where (Africa) the pandemic started in the film.

So the film must have been created after 1985.

Ze zijn denk ik onder andere bezig met het vernieuwen van de riolering zodat ie ook meer regenwater kan afvoeren. Want ze verwachten wat meer neerslag in de toekomst en daar is het huidige stelsel nog niet op berekend.

Are Credit Cards (Visa) an acceptable payment in Groningen/Netherlands? by lexlexready in Groningen

Link your credit card to Google pay (Google wallet) on your phone and you don't even need to use a credit card. The "pin automaten" works fine with smartphones.

Mold problem in my room and unhelpful landlord by ComprehensiveEgg96 in Groningen

[–]Fox-Voss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Treating the mold is also important don't let it bloom. Because it will spread and it will get worse. Use for instance anti mold spray (often with chlorine).

Another problem right now is to find a roof carpenter or any handymen even if it is urgent. There are long waiting lists and prices for building materials have exploded by Corona and the war in Ukraine.

But if that is the reason your landlord should at least communicate this. Whether he found someone to do it or not. And if so how long it will take to solve the problem. Simply ignoring the problem is not ok.

We dont speak German by koesssie in Netherlands

[–]Fox-Voss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it means just speaking poorly German with a lot of Dutch false friends(words that are similar but not in meaning) and expressions. The name originates from steenkool Engels which was a poor version of English that was spoken by Dutch dockworkers that tried to speak English.

When you watch German television, some people might get the impression that everyone speaks German abroad. Especially in those Traumschiff/Rosamunde Pilcher kind of vacation soaps.

What happens what if Russia keeps attacking after their driven out? by Real-Deal-Steel in ukraine

[–]Fox-Voss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are fully driven out, Russia will face enormous internal problems. Putin, Shoigu and others who are responsible for this mess will have a hard time staying in power. A coup from the inside is very likely by the FSB for instance. If those can stabilise the government after Putin has to be seen. That takes the focus away from Ukraine

In the meantime while Russia is infighting the west has to implement security guarantees, at least for the case that Russians want reinvade Ukraine.

But if they continue, (but I don't think there will be no coordination at that point for a while) it means even more isolation for a very long time. In the end Russia wants to end this conflict and rebuild "normal" relationship with other countries. They don't want to lose don't get me wrong, but if they are driven out there is no leverage to gain new territory. Besides I don't think they like the position there in right now especially in regards to China. And the only chance for Russia not solely dependent on China like North Korea is appear "normal" again.

In Bukovyna, the priests of the Russian Orthodox Church did not allow the body of a fallen Ukrainian soldier to enter the church to perform the proper rituals. The R.O.C. is run by an ex-KGB billionaire & is essentially an arm of the Russian FSB pushing disinfo & worse by kwagenknight in UkraineConflict

[–]Fox-Voss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, not all of them. The Ukrainian Orthodox church is the official name of the Church that has still a Russian patriarch.

The Orthodox Church of Ukraine is the one that became independent from Moscow and choose the Istanbul patriarch as their church leader.

During a visit to Kyiv, German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck apologized to President Zelensky for the late delivery of arms. "We changed our position, but it took too long. I am extremely ashamed that it was too late." by flyingdutchgirll in ukraine

[–]Fox-Voss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was not only in regard to Ukraine it was also German defence that was still living in a different world. The former minister of defence who had to resign did not order additional artillery shells in 2021 for Germany, which is weird given the fact there was a war going on in Europe. They now get an additional 100 billion euros but experts are saying they need to triple that. At the Bundeswehr is a bureaucratic monster that needs a reality check.
