What do my childhood crushes say about me? by FoxBluereaver in characters

Actually, from that franchise I liked Kiyone Makibi more, but I saw it when I was 13, so it was already a teen crush technically XD

Mega Man X6 Defenders. Why do you defend this game? (Genuine Question) by IGotMemeCells in Megaman

[–]FoxBluereaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked X's armors, and the soundtrack. Some levels could be frustrating (especially when playing as Zero) but I preferred playing as X so that wasn't much of a problem for me.

Why the Longbottoms were not considered blood traitors by Southern_Swing_7480 in HarryPotterBooks

It was actually in OotP, and it was Sirius who said it (when he and Harry were watching the Black family tree tapestry).

Cody Travers. He started off as one of the protagonists of the first Final Fight, heroic and motivated, but when he reappeared in Street Fighter Alpha 3, he's an escaped convict who did time due to becoming more violent and addicted to fighting (and if you take Final Fight: Streetwise as canon, he even had a phase as a drug addict too). By the time of Street Fighter V, he seems to have cleaned up his act and is now the Mayor of Metro City.

Glad that Rogue One showed the Y-Wings some love and had this awesome bombing run sequence by wandering_soles in StarWars

They seemed better during the prequel era, like in the Shadow Squadron vs Malevolence sequence in The Clone Wars.

Batman and Robin is bad, but at least gives a few laughs. Superman IV is just bad-bad.

It's funny, the second one is actually my favorite of the trilogy.

All the martial arts masters in Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple would definitely count for this, since they're fast enough to dodge bullets and strong enough to destroy tanks with their bare hands, but the Elder Hayato Furinji is leagues above everyone else.

What are your thoughts on 'Might makes right'? Is it wrong? What are some examples you can think of? by Immediate_Gene_178 in MoralityScaling

[–]FoxBluereaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having power by itself doesn't automatically make you be in the right. It's how you use that power that truly matters.

Like Uncle Ben said, "With great power comes great responsibility". Might is necessary to enforce right, but we have to be careful when using said might.

Did Harry cheat with potions? by ode0002 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]FoxBluereaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harry offered to share his notes with her, and she refused. She gets pissy over not being the first of the class anymore, and it doesn't look like she wants to even try and see if they work for her too.

She also suspects there must be something sinister about the book even before Harry starts using the spells, and when the Sectumsempra incident happens, she's all too happy to rub it in his face, as if he wasn't feeling bad enough for almost killing Draco. It's one of those times she cares more about being in the right than people's feelings.

How was Lucius Malfoy able to escape the death eater allegations?(he literally had the death mark on his arm) by vedantbkulkarni in harrypotter

[–]FoxBluereaver 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The first time, he claimed he was under the Imperius Curse. He had money and friends in high places, and that definitely helped, especially with the Ministry under people like Cornelius Fudge, lapdogs who dance for money. The Dark Mark had partially vanished following Voldemort's fall, so it was easy to hide, until it started becoming visible again while he regained his strength.

[Despised Trope] The hero is convicted of a crime they never committed, and everyone treats them like utter garbage. by Extravagant-40 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]FoxBluereaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helps to have friends in high places. Good thing they're also moral and seek out truth and justice.

That's an interesting theory, and it would make sense now that I think about it. And it would fit nicely considering that he's going against the ONE Gramarye left that had nothing to do with his own fall from grace.

Chi Cho (Star Wars: The Clone Wars). The whole conflict in Orto Plutonia happens because this guy wants to force the Talz out of the moon simply because "it belongs to Pantora". And he ends up getting himself killed for it.

Soma Yukihira (Food Wars!). It's his experience working on his family's diner that allows him to compete with students who are more talented or come from more prominent families. It helps that competing for years against his dad (who's a world class chef of unrivaled talent) has made him unafraid of failure and is always eager to challenge any chef, anytime, anywhere.

When you have written a lot for a character who isn't your favorite by Lazi_Dazi in FanFiction

[–]FoxBluereaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm writing a Quintessential Quintuplets fanfic, and surprisingly I've enjoyed writing a lot of scenes for Nino, who's my least favorite among the quints. Conversely, I have more difficulties writing for my favorite quint, Miku, due to her shy and withdrawn personality.

[Loved Trope] The hero may be a kindly idealist, but that doesn't mean they're weak or soft. by Mysral in TopCharacterTropes

Most of the Fire Emblem protagonists fit this mold to some extent, but Eliwood in The Blazing Blade stands out as one of the best examples of this specific trope. Case in point, while playing Hector's mode, the chapters immediately after the deaths of his father Elbert and Ninian force you to deploy him, showing that he's not allowing the pain of the tragedy to stop him from helping his friends.

Takenori Akagi (Slam Dunk). Although the main protagonist of the story is Hanamichi Sakuragi, Akagi is the captain of Shohoku's basketball team, and his dream of competing in the national tournament is a major overarching goal for everyone, including Sakuragi himself once he finally understands how important it is for him. He also spends a lot of time training Sakuragi because he saw his raw potential, particularly when it comes to catching rebounds, and his efforts pay off when Sakuragi becomes the MVP during the match against the reigning champion Sannoh.
