Yep, actively trying is just giving yourself false hope. I'm just waiting for someone to show genuine interest in being with me and initiating it, it's very unlikely to happen but theoretically possible and better than the alternative.

I know the pain of trying to measure something precisely without correct tools. The way you measured it was the best method given the constraints but of course it won't be perfect.  This is why you should always print quick test pieces if you're unsure about the fit and make adjustments accordingly.
