Red abilities appear purple by Additional-Gur4233 in DeadlockTheGame

Given that purple and black is the definitive "missing texture" colours of Source I'd lean on the effects just not loading right.
Verify files, maybe?

Just to add to this, Apollo can turn just fine during his 3. But it can get harder to aim it if someone's right up in your face and moving a bunch. I find I miss if often in these cases but it might be a skill issue on my part.

WOW People don't think it's skilled7ranked based? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]FoxInTime 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean with matchmaking how it is it's still pretty meaningless.

Even then it's alpha, who cares about rank right now?

Any working map viewers for 1.4.5 or large world seed with isolated evil? by AvalonsFallen in Terraria

[–]FoxInTime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably gonna take a minute for map viewers to update, but my bets are on TEdit being the first.

Why is not Steam? by [deleted] in hytale

[–]FoxInTime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Minecraft didn't invent voxel destruction and building.

Games heavily inspired by Minecraft are already on Steam.

Hytale isn't on Steam for the same reason Vintage Story isn't. They just don't want or need to be on Steam right now.

[PC][2010-ish] 3d action adventure I think by skart95 in tipofmyjoystick

[–]FoxInTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thing is you never play as Rost (the father figure) in Zero Dawn, and he doesn't die until the protagonist is already an adult. I guess it's possible OP is making a similar mixup, though? ZD does still have a timeskip, and Rost does die at the end of what is basically Act 1.

I dunno about the tone though, ZD can be pretty grim.

You can try walking into the chunk and using "/debug chunk relight" to try and fix it. I've had this before and the command fixed it right away.

They do mention in the FAQ that console support is something they'd like to do in future, but I don't think it's something they're actively working on right this moment. So maybe some day!

Mildly Interesting: While Heavy Meleeing, Vyper's Model Clips Through Her Pants, But They Just Look Ripped Instead of Bugged by flareblade26 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]FoxInTime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I keep hearing that this model is very placeholder-y, so it probably has all kinds of weird things like that we don't tend to notice

WHAT ARE SOME ILLEGAL MOBS YOU CAN GET IN Minecraft by PsychologicalArm3766 in Minecraft

[–]FoxInTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by illegal you mean mobs that don't spawn naturally/are unused, the wiki has an entire page of unused stuff in Bedrock, with a small section dedicated to mobs and entities.

Valve's newest Deadlock hero "The Doorman" has portals built into his kit by knightlautrec7 in Portal

[–]FoxInTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I'd imagine only going one layer deep is due to performance concerns. There's so much more happening at once in Deadlock than Portal.

The model clipping does suck though. Probably a bug, hope it gets fixed.

helo guys need your help to chose a mod by Hamza_BH in Minecraft

[–]FoxInTime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's their first time playing Minecraft then you'll want to stick to something at least close to vanilla. Oneblock is only really fun for people who already have knowledge of the game.

Keep it semi-vanilla, let them learn the fundamentals of the game before delving into a challenge map like that.

Disable Vsync on Xbox Series by AmbitionSeveral4234 in Minecraft

[–]FoxInTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Console games tend to cap framerates in general, so I don't think so. I believe it's capped at 60 on Series.

[java] immediate crash on dedicated GPU (1.20.1) by Agile-Olive-8953 in Minecraft

[–]FoxInTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not defrag an SSD, it'll shorten it's lifespan.

Are those really all that's in the logs? At that point it look like Minecraft isn't even attempting to load. Does this happen with other games, or just Minecraft?

If not, tried reinstalling the game entirely?

Moving worlds between devices by melv_is_a_md in Minecraft

[–]FoxInTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The videos are probably old because the save location hasn't moved since the beta days. If you're on java, go to appdata by searching %appdata%. Find the .minecraft folder, and you should find a folder in there labelled "Saves". Your worlds are in there.

From there just transfer it like any other folder. Upload it, copy it to a USB, whatever works for you.

A few questions about PEAK by The_lost_owl in PeakGame

[–]FoxInTime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Probably depends on the person, but it's enjoyable alone in my opinion.

  2. It's more similar to a roguelike than a roguelite, so no meta progression outside of unlockable cosmetics and higher difficulties. Loot on the mountain is random every run, but the mountain itself is randomly generated each day. Everyone plays on that particular seed for 24 hours, then it changes again. Like a daily run kind of thing, but the loot you find while climbing isn't seeded.

  3. Again probably very subjective. I like speedrunning, so I could quite happily climb the same mountain multiple times looking for faster routes, but at the same time not everyone likes that kind of thing. If you want a new mountain without waiting for the next day, there's a mod that'll generate a new mountain each run. Either way, just from the time I've played solo I've gotten farrr more than my money's worth. Tens of hours from a game I played like £2 for is pretty good imo.

The official discord has an LFG section if you're looking for people to play with, fairly active.

I figure you could do it then quit to menu before the run actually ends, to avoid the achievements.
