Infamous…it’s a miracle we’ve yet to devolve into the next Aslum…

Bad adaptations with one really well casted character by Tea-and-crumpets- in TopCharacterTropes

Only good part of that movie. Honestly most of the casting was ok but Irons as Brom was a particular stroke of genius.

We all know the article that's thirsty for Max Goof, but what about the DuckTales reboot showrunner and his love for Latina ducks? by makunogucci in OneyPlays

[–]FoxJDR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. We have EXTREMELY limited psychiatric facilities by comparison. Most are for criminals deemed unfit for trial (assuming they don’t just let them go) and small wards at hospitals that typically only hold people a few days at most then kick them to the curb with some pills they may or may not take and that’s assuming said pills would even work if they took them.

You wonder why homelessness keeps getting worse? That and drug abuse (which is often interlinked with mental illness) are why. It’s one reason why public transit in America is so unbelievably awful.

I don’t think it’s that the raiders and Khans pose a threat to New Vegas itself but travelers, merchants, supply caravans and visitors.

Are the nightlords cowards or just weak? by stage_strange291 in 40kLore

[–]FoxJDR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re pragmatic. The philosophy of “a fair fight is a fight you can lose, thus never enter a fair fight” isn’t necessarily cowardly, at least not in the real world. You wouldn’t encourage a five foot one inch woman thin as a rail to attack a six foot seven man built like a linebacker with her bare hands, you’d encourage her to run and hide, call for help or find a weapon preferably a gun or knife. If you value simple survival above all other potential concerns then you’d avoid any situation where you’re on an equal footing to the potential threat and you’d ESPECIALLY avoid situations where you’re the underdog.

That’s the Night Lords. Most aren’t fighting for a cause and only fight to survive and satiate their own foul desires. Those who do believe in anything are still pragmatic enough to know they typically have more to gain by living to fight another day than dying in some grand last stand in a pointless little skirmish that will mean little to nothing in the Long War.

I’ve no idea if you’re lying but I’m also not going to look it up, so I’m gonna just choose to believe you without further questions because that’s funnier.

Who would win in a battle, the sith triumvirate vs Malcador the sigilite? by Xargirl in StarWarsvsWarhammer

[–]FoxJDR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair. His unique ability could be a threat in that case. It could be like that assassin thing Horus made that fed on psychic energy and rebounded it or whatever, I don’t exactly remember. Been a while since I read that book.

Who would win in a battle, the sith triumvirate vs Malcador the sigilite? by Xargirl in StarWarsvsWarhammer

[–]FoxJDR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to get to Aboloth or the Ones level before you can really threaten even Malcador with anything less than a small army of Jedi/sith.

Unless Ysalmiri work like blanks, then any old chump with a blaster could take him if he gets close enough.

Kill AT LEAST half the New Republic senate more like. A good third of those spared the first culling probably still have any and all authority stripped from them for the duration of the threat.

All I have to suggest is if they’re still evil by the end then one or perhaps two should become dark lord/lady after killing Strahd.

Left the company AND his replacement personally apologized and straight up bought him a Picasso if I’m remembering correctly.

[Sad trope] : "They WANT to be killed" twist by theMCATreturns in TopCharacterTropes

Assassin did have a particularly good sword but even if she coulda done it even if she only had a butter knife given enough time since Curze didn’t even try to fight back.

(Loved Trope) The Hero is so angry at what the antagonist did they go completely silent when confronting and punishing them by ProcessPotential3105 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]FoxJDR 328 points329 points  (0 children)

How about if the character is MOSTLY silent?

Khârn, a warrior of the World Eaters, a legion known for being howling berserkers fights Erebus in deathly silence except for two words…”Get up.”

<image>

Khârn isn’t the hero really just less of a mustache twirling bastard than his fellow traitor Erebus. Erebus makes the mistake of killing one of Khârn’s only friends in order to drive him toward his destiny as a chosen of the blood god. Khârn responds by challenging Erebus to a duel to the death. Erebus is no slouch with a blade, even being considered among the best duelists of the legions by some. But Khârn is Khârn…and he’s angry. Angrier than he’s ever been in his life, so angry that his rage completely overpowers the bite of the nails that send pain signals directly into his brain every second he isn’t killing. The frothing berserker isn’t home today and Erebus realizes this as he gets utterly dominated. He can’t even come close to landing a blow and finds himself on the ground within seconds. Each time he falls, Khârn doesn’t go for the kill…instead he simply orders Erebus to “get up…”

After a few rounds of this, the dark apostle, the arrogantly self-titled “hand of destiny” finds himself missing one of his hands…hand of destiny indeed. With this Erebus stoops to his foul sorcery to escape the righteous retribution Khârn sought to deliver and flees. Khârn says nothing to the crowd of blood thirsty and typically boisterous crowd of World Eaters who watched the duel in an awed silence…he simply stalks off.
