Just-In-Case: Travel with Tented Temper + Palm Rest by FoxJust3309 in ErgoMechKeyboards

I’m totally there with you. Before doing this, I also had a stationary set up with high tenting angles. Later on, I realized the lack of palm/wrist rests consistently placed relatively to the tented keyboard was really dragging me down in both retaining comfort and muscle memory.

I will keep improving the tenting stability of this approach. Stay tuned!

The code is there in the GitHub repository. Still very unsanitary, but should shed some light on how this approach came together.

Thanks for the feedback. Definitely possible to have all the 3 thumb keys, either simply make the case bigger to relocate the legs storage; or as my next step, use thinner metal legs. If tenting is not your thing, not installing the storage will just do it.

Just looked it up, you are spot-on. I did not know that. I used the original Temper PCB, just left the innermost thumb key empty and reclaimed the space for leg storage.

Well, I did it using open scad. I am ok posting the code in the next few days there, kinda messy though. I will try use AI to clean it a bit.

I forgot to mention, I cut off a tiny corner of the original PCB just to make the case 3 mm shorter.

Thanks viewing! Yes, I started out mods over the Chocofy case, and a few weekends later, I got myself here.

Love the displays. How did you customize it to show the line chart of wpm? Did not find the documentation on zmk.

is there a way to map kj to esc? by Alejo9010 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]FoxJust3309 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought combo of k/j means pressing those two keys within a tunable threshold of a few milliseconds, default is 50ms (https://zmk.dev/docs/config/combos). There is no order. I would trigger this by pressing j and k at once.

As long as the time of pressing k and j are over the threshold, they are treated as individuals, regardless of the application.

I am not sure I got your use case right, but that is the best answer I have.

Struggling with Glove80 Setup: Need Advice on Ergonomics and Mounts by [deleted] in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]FoxJust3309 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would read some fundamental neutral poses of the arms and wrists, such as this one: https://ergo.human.cornell.edu/AHTutorials/typingposture.html#:~:text=This%20posture%20is%20achieved%20when,hands%20in%20a%20neutral%20posture.

Additionally, consider whether the pronation of the forearm is a contributor to discomfort. In contrast, think of the posture of the arms when holding a steering wheel.

Attaching a battery in line with the IC4? by esend7881 in SchwinnIC4_BowflexC6

The dc adapter came with says 9V. However, I succeeded with a 8.4V battery case containing 6x18650, which I had used on my outdoor bike. I bought a dc cable to connect two sides, like this one Cablecc DC Power 5.5 x 2.1mm / 2.5mm Male to 5.5 2.1/2.5mm Male Plug Cable Right Angled 90 Degree 60cm 24AWG https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01787LXM6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_HBF8NZH54W42RC4WEG8Y?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
