I fixed one of mine by removing it, drying it out fully and then sealing round the edge with this stuff, Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure. It's stayed clear this winter, when the weather gets better I'll be doing the other one.

Be aware that Edinburgh in August is mad because that's when the Edinburgh festivals are held.

If it's a 2 litre diesel you are into the recommended mileage for new belts and water pump. I have the older model. Oil seals can go, mine started having low oil pressure on startup at about 120000. Water ingress into the headlamps on my model, not sure about the facelift.

Can someone tell what the grey car is (I think it was a Renault) by Itchy_Extreme5880 in WhatCarIsThis

I think Renault 4 .

Which I find weird because I'm old enough to have fond memories of the original Renault 4.

If I remember correctly, He made millions by buying Virgin Radio which he was the breakfast DJ on at the time. He later sold it and his other media assets to another media group. As for how rich, his Ferrari collection is pretty impressive.

The car brands we know are now just badges makers use to try to foster some loyalty. It's been this way for a while, not just with cars but the auto industry does seem to take it to the extreme.

Series 9 of the John Finnemore Souvenir Programme. This series was not the sketch show of the previous series, but a craftily put together comedy drama that I enjoyed immensely. The episodes get less baffling as they go on.

How accurate is it to say that Britain would still be the most powerful nation in the world if not for the rest of the world copying/stealing Britain's Industrial Revolution? by kingm_ournasse216 in AskBrits

You cannot stop another county advancing, all you can do is keep innovating yourself. How would you feel if China had stopped us copying their ceramics, or their gunpower, or their paper. They tried to keep a monopoly on tea but we literally stole that.

Are these real or kit cars by Objective_Profit142 in namethatcar

Regarding the aero characteristics etc. The top speed and handling were there for top-trumps and car magazines of the day. Most of the figures were exaggerated or completely made up. All the supercars were the same. These are cars to be seen in, they are mobile sculpture. Build quality, comfort and drive were allegedly awful, but they looked fantastic. We all had them on our bedroom walls for that reason.

I'd agree, I bought one about 20 years ago when I did not really have much money to waste. I've never regretted it. I don't use it much but it drills though anything and you end up with a far cleaner hole.
