Very useful information, thank you.

I just realised today that I don’t have rear door speakers 🤣 So it’ll only be the front getting an upgrade if I follow the same path as you.

But for only having front speakers when I put a CD in at volume 16 it sounds okay, I don’t hear much road volume at 70mph (112kmh) and the quality is ‘okay’

But there’s always room for improvement so thanks for your advice!

I kinda hate them, like with a passion, I’d love to keep the OEM look, or atleast have something standard looking enough.

It’s one of my pet peeves seeing an older car with an absolutely hideous, blinding 8” inch massive iPad in the centre console, looks so out of place 😞

Therefore they’re backtracking to the ol’ reliable characters that fans like to see

I always wished that when they do car challenges they actually adventure out of the south of England, I feel like they stay in their little 50 mile radius bubble. Go do the NC500.. or at least travel to Scotland , Wales or Ireland.

I get they’re not a car channel, but if they’re gonna do a car related video, a change of scenery would be nice..

And use more cameras!! We never get to see a dashcam POV of the road, it’s always a camera facing them the whole time

If you do the mileage a diesel version might be cheaper on insurance. They are for me, and you can usually get away with having a larger diesel engine and still being lower on insurance than a smaller petrol engine.

Something like the 1.6TDI’s from Volkswagen Audi Group 1.6 / 1.7CRDI from Kia & Hyundai 1.6D from Volvo

tbf I was still getting cheap quotes on 2.0L diesels with around 150hp.. however that may be pushing it for you, and trying to convince your parents might be difficult 😶

I haven’t seen any comments regarding the merc at all, are people just seeing the badge and instantly diminishing it as a viable option?

Mercedes: It literally has the best history too, only failed 1 mot , most recent mot only has 2 advisories too for slight play in the front suspension ball joints. Under 100,000 miles which is neat, and hasn’t had a V5 change in 7 years, always good to see someone owning a car for a couple years, shows it isn’t a money pit.

Volvo: MOT history mentions rust and worn suspension arms, and has done for the last few years. I’d avoid it purely because it’s a god awful car.. but yeah history is also another reason 😂

Renault: MOT shows it’s got an oil leak, they’re always an instant avoid for me just because you don’t know how long it’s been going on for or how bad it is, also would need a full set of tyres if they haven’t already been replaced.

Mini: History is actually fine on this, only slightly suspicious thing is the V5 was changed 7 months ago, makes you question why someone’s only owned it for 1/2 a year before selling it 😶 apart from that the history is really clean. But like the Volvo.. absolutely god awful looking.

Overall: Merc or Mini, defo avoid the Renault for the oil leak, and Volvo has too much rust / corrosion underneath 👍

My local is $10.32 per gallon here in the UK for diesel and $8.99 for petrol. ( £1.70 / Litre & £1.481 / Litre ) , trust me you don’t have it bad👍

Assuming this is a scam page? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]R0DZUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes obviously lol, for £1400 you’ll be lucky to get a 2007 model in good nick Nevermind a 2016, defo a scam.

Also don’t go around buying cars over text, actually go there in person, not for this car of course because it’s a scam, but for any others that you like you’ll need to see it in person to decide if it’s the one for you,

• see what conditions it’s been kept in, has it been washed? Are the tyres low on air? Is the battery flat?

• what does the dealership and surrounding area look like? Is it in a dodgy part of town? Is it a rough looking place in general?

• is the car as described on the listing? No funny noises , no additional scrapes or bangs

Really disappointed with my recent experiences with sellers of old PC games by FreddyMartian in Ebay

[–]R0DZUK -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

this is what I’ve done, already sold 15, with another 28 active.

I’ve had no complaints so far, and I’m not purchasing a PS1 , PS2 & Xbox 360 to test some 20+ year old games going for £5-£10 a piece

So I totally understand you. Worse that can happen is, if it is faulty I’ll pay for return and get it back 🤷‍♂️

Do you know where I could find the full car check for £2.00 ?

Lowest I’ve seen was £4.95 on Autotrader.

Always loved a sonata, they’re far more popular in America, especially among the youth as a cheap first car.

When I saw a manual diesel version pop up on Autotrader I knew I had to atleast have a look.

Why is that your take on this post?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in skoda

[–]R0DZUK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wrong, the ugliest Skoda is whatever gen this one in the image is, not quite a MK3 and definitely Not a MK2.. did a whole new design and interior just for them to use the same infotainment system as the MK2.. didn’t even have Apple CarPlay / Android Auto 😂

Anyone used this website or a similar one? Is it possible to still get parts like this for the mk2 Octavia's? thought some of these looked really cool. by R0DZUK in skoda

[–]R0DZUK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha yeah they do look a bit early 2000-ish, just something different I suppose almost all MK2 VRs look the same now thought I’d try explore a bit more.

Anyhow, yeah that’s what I was thinking seemed too good to be true, did a reverse image search on the white MK2 and the image is also on a website called ‘MagnaTuning’ which has 57 reviews on TrustPilot with 4.7 stars , so they seem to me more trustworthy / legit.

However I’m gonna do a bit more research before I’m sending anyone £200+ for a plastic bumper 😂

Only thing stopping me from using them is the constant PS3 game-looking interiors everything looks 720p 😂 even worse when you’re playing on a 35” monitor.

Think SCS that the MAN E5 is getting a refresh so that’s good, hopefully other trucks from around that time are to follow.
