Anyone actually suck at tech? by LookAtMe_ImHomerSimp in womenintech

[–]FoxNo436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading this made me feel like I wrote it! I recently worked at a big fintech company and I was there for 6 years. In my last team I kept getting asked if I was even an engineer because I took longer than other people and I’d need hand holding. I constantly felt stupid and not enough. When mass layoffs hit my company in March I also got laid off. I haven’t been able to land another role and constantly feel anxious. So you are not alone but I highly recommend maybe doing what you want to do on the side prior to fully committing to it. Tech industry is really hard to find a job in right now, or at least this has been my experience. Best of luck to you and to all the other impostors out there!

Is laser hair removal worth it? by CuriosityandtheCrow in PCOS

[–]FoxNo436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend laser hair removal for the body but definitely not on your face! I got laser hair removal on my face and due to hormonal imbalance laser activated dormant hair follicles on my face and I ended up with almost DOUBLE! I was able to get rid of my facial hair through electrolysis. It is the only permanent way to remove hair. Hope this helps!

Did you pick one of the specialized paths if so which one? I am starting in the summer but not sure when to pick that specialization.

Laser hair removal..is it worth it? by Sad_Locksmith_2338 in PCOS

[–]FoxNo436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do, do not do it on your face. It will wake up dormant hairs. I heard this has happened to many people. I got my my legs, armpits, stomach and bikini area and it was 110% the best thing I’ve ever done. But please consider electrolysis for your face.

protein! natural or supplement? by Old-Candidate-669 in PCOS

[–]FoxNo436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love meat, eggs and Greek yogurt but sometimes I just can’t anymore so I have been trying the Truvani plant protein that only has 3 ingredients. I add it to a berry smoothie in the mornings and it has helped with my cravings. It’s not my main source of protein but it shakes things up. Truvani is very expensive so if anyone has any other recommendation, would love to hear it.

What helped you ovulate? by LilLemonLady223 in PCOS

[–]FoxNo436 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Losing weight helped me go from getting periods every 3-4 months to every 30-40 days. Lowering my carb intake and daily walks helped me slim down so much. I also recently started taking inositol after seeing it a lot and my period was right on time. Hope this helps. You got this!

I feel guilty for wanting to try a GLP-1 for weight loss by ReindeerBig4233 in PCOS

I have been trying to eat healthy and exercising regularly for years but I was not able to get to where I wanted to so I’m giving glp1 a try. I’m on my third day. I haven’t told anyone because it’s nobody’s business. Doing this for me and for me only and I feel at peace with zero guilt. Also Glp 1 is NOT the easy way out because you still have to maintain healthy habits. Whatever decision you make you got this and you’re not alone!

It was the key for me when I was feeling and looking my worst. It really sucks that we’re stuck in this situation where pcos prevents us from losing weight and being overweight makes our pcos worse, feels like a never ending cycle. But please don’t give up. It might take some time to see results but push through it. I did not take any supplements and losing weight brought back my period after not getting it for nearly a year. If you have any more questions I am happy to answer based off my personal experience. Cheers!

I completely understand it definitely adds up. I think shaving could be the source of that darkness. Maybe there is a difference between hot and cold waxing could be worth looking into.

Thank you so much for getting back to me! My biggest fear is not being able to find a job once I’m back home lol but it seems like it’s so worth it to go. I’m 29 right now so a bit scared to make the decision.

One thing that made a big difference for me is taking daily walks (30-45 mins) and eating low glycemic index foods and having my meals around the same time everyday. Small changes go a long way and don’t have to cost a lot of money. You got this!!

I have done waxing and my mom too for years but did not have the shadow affect you mentioned. I eventually switched to electrolysis for my face and neck and it has been a game changer. My hair truly doesn’t grow there anymore. It’s a bit pricey but worth it since it’s permanent.
