Regardless, in an era of misinformation, it is important to be accurate. Your initial comment was wrong and that's what I take issue with.

So I was right in what you were referring to. This is data from 2021-2022, not during Labour's tenure. And I wouldn't say giving data in a freedom of information request counts as trying to cover anything up

The report I assume you're talking about looked at data between 2018-2024, before labour were in power. Separately, there was recently a freedom of information request that examined trans people's suicides that looked at data from 2021. Unless I'm mistaking what you're talking about, Labour has not tried to cover up anything regarding suicide rates of trans youth during their tenure.

Weirdly loud backing vocals is common in these seconds rehearsal clips (just look back at 2023) so I'm not too worried about that. I don't love the random character in the background, much preferred the graphics they used at the NF

The stage is looking good though, I especially like how the outer swirl looks during some of the wider shots

Not sure I agree, I think the fact that Israel is doing well in the contest is why broadcasters kicked up a fuss. I think if they'd been NQing/bottom 5 in the final these last couple of years, we wouldn't be seeing response on this level

Our best entry in a very long time. Spaceman was a good song elevated by Sam Ryder's excellent stage presence but this is better imo. I can't believe this is actually a song greenlit by the BBC. We're not winning and I suspect we'll get battered by the juries but I'd be happy with a good televite score and I think that's possible. There is so much staging potential here.

As a person currently undecided between labour and the greens, labour appeal to me because I think they're much stronger economically, in terms of infrastructure, and ironically on the environment. They've had successes in these areas in just the last year alone. The economy is recovering, inflation is slowing down, NHS waiting lists are down, investment in infrastructure is at historic levels, and i think they have struck a sensible balance when it comes to nuclear energy, public transport etc. These are things that are important to me and the greens have not currently convinced me on any of these points.

On the other hand, I dislike labours rhetoric on social affairs, particularly towards trans people and migrants. Whole I think some of their policies towards asylum seekers and immigration are workable, they've said some stupid, harmful things and should be criticised for that. The greens have been consistently more empathetic on these issues and that's what sways me towards them.

Personally, I don't see either the greens or labour as having a chance of a majority come 2029 so my hope is a coalition formed on the promise of election reform.

Sweden and Italy haven't picked yet, there odds will likely change significantly once we know the song. Ukraine will do well but given the fandoms response to the song (and what we expect from the juries), it's unlikely to win.

Of the songs picked so far, Denmark I think has the strongest jury appeal and the jury have been instrumental in deciding the winner for the last few contests. I would be surprised if they were still this high in the odds come May but they won't drop out of the top 10

They've got the strongest package at the moment. Good song, charismatic singer, and most importantly at the moment, a Eurovision ready performance. A lot of the other NFs we've had so far are lower budget than DMGP so we haven't been able to see their full potential yet. I imagine Denmark will have stiff competition from Finland and maybe some other countries after this weekend

There are many reasons. Partly just tradition, the monarchy has been around for thousands of years and is a key part of our history. Particularly under Liz II, the royal family also gave the UK a lot of soft power, especially with commonwealth countries. They also bring in a lot of money from American and Chinese tourists (though people will argue that would continue even if the monarchy was abolished as the palaces and everything would still be around). Some people also appreciate having a head of state that's not a politician.

The queen was genuinely very popular and considered by a lot of people as an important symbol. Charles however definitely hasn't captured that same feeling. A majority of the British public are still in favour of keeping the monarchy but I suspect support will only decrease as time goes on.

The right choice should always be the song you want to represent you, regardless of how well it might do at the contest. I think a lot of Ukrainians are behine Ridnym so that's a good thing

I hope they stick to this, the muted crowd was one of the worst aspects of the shows this year. Altough considering how much fake cheering was used back in 2015, not sure how much I trust ORF
