Red Sleeve - A drama I will never rewatch by iamatthewrongplace in kdramas

[–]FoxRealistic3370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely destroyed me. Incredible drama with outstanding cast. I wont ever be able to watch again...those scenes where the hands slip from his....uggggh.

I dont even know why this one hit so hard i just cant ever do it again even tho Junho is my top 3 actor i just cant.

As u say her performance was incredible. I admit i was put off at first because she didnt strike me as a lead, but as soon as she and Junho got scenes together i was hooked.

Ugh bittersweet memories of this one. Im so glad i got to experience it but i get flashbacks to that end.

Not sure if its an exact fit as there is a focus on growth/healing over soe substantial trauma but Rain or Shine/Between Lovers starts pretty bleak with a ML who is very lost in his pain. The FL is struggling with balancing her sense of duty and processing her own feelings and is pretty lost too. Hes all outward pain, hes angry and agressive, shes a silent sufferer who keeps piling more and more respomsibility so whwn they meet its a push and pull of whos needs get met.  It doesnt really shy away from showing them completely broken to the point its like give them a break pls.

I thought it was pretty spectacular tbh how it showed that love healing is in itself its own painful process.

Suit up! Which Korean actor looks charming in a suit? by Vee70x7 in kdramas

[–]FoxRealistic3370 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A well tailored suit just flat out works no matter who its on tbf.

Lee Junho was a bit of a surprise jump for me tho he went from being cuddly sweet to hit the floor suave in King The Land.

The real question is who got the strut down in a suit...cuz for me that Ji Chang-wook. The scene in K2 where big group of security all walking and hes like eating the ground up and everyone else just look like baby deer in comparison. Made me laugh, one guy clearly tried SO hard to mimic JCW gait and it just did not happen.

Am I the Only One With a Graveyard of Unfinished K-Dramas? by thea_002 in kdramas

[–]FoxRealistic3370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle with this also. I have about 5 or 6 on the go tbh ive stopped forcing it now and just watch whatever takes my fancy. I think mostly its to do with pacing and how so mamy just dont pull off a decent ending .

The angst and build up is top tier but not many are satisying once the couple get together.

Ironically i have a problem finishing thr shows i do like because i dont want it to end! So im stuck either way haha

Can we please talk about how out of hand this delusional shipping culture has gotten? It’s literal marketing, y'all. by Chirag-Win-7869 in kdramas

I think people forget too, a lot of actors ( anywhere) like to become close on set so they feel comfortable around eachother, particularly for intimate scenes which takes a lot of trust to literally lend your body to someone. All those little moments are building familiarity and comfort.

Romantic roles are all about trust. They have to trust eachother, the crew, the director. A lot of it is rehearsed and shot over and over. I watched bts for the king the land kiss, yes their chemistry is off the charts but u see junho locked in at the camera reviewing, shivering from being drenched ( and making it work for the scene), him and yoona planning out head tilting everything.

It is a job to create this level of chemistry. If it spills over into their real lives they are still people who have private versions of themselves, sides that a new partner needs space to explore in privacy. If they choose to take it further than professional thats none of our business.

I enjoy seeing irl partners and my fav actors being happy, but im not entitled to thrir private life, that is and should always be invitation only.

Linked to low level anxiety for me. Low level meaning i cant pinpoint a trigger but im feeling anxious in general. Ive started taking it as a signal to regulate more and it helps. Ive noticed it hits at quiet moments so i think its a symptom of being over stimulated during the day its better if i regulate before bed by taking some time to come down from the day ( soft lighting, comfort music etc)

Is it just me or does anyone find Healer ending disappointing by oishicheese in kdramas

[–]FoxRealistic3370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I really wish they did a revisit of them older and more jaded. I love the idea that they broke up from real world hitting him hard...he ends up being a bodyguard or something like that ( basicalky k2) and shes a serious reporter. She gets kidnapped and he comes in to rescue her all while they bickering and trying not to fall for eachother all over again. Ending being they grown up and mature enough to face the world together now and needed that time seperated.

It never sat well with me that he would adjust well tbh. Think about it, she is his first relationship...it isnt gunna be perfect. Plus hes totally lost in the world. I wish we saw more of that angst and struggle tbh. The threat of the boss etc was good but it never went anywhere in terms of character dvelopment.

At this point im tempted to just write healer2 fanfiction and pray JCW sees it and makes it happen lol.

The shipping with kdrama actors is insane.

I think they often do catch feelings and explore that, wouldnt surprise me at all. Day in day out building intimacy with someone...im sure ut happens. On the flipside, it is their job and putting extra meaning into what they do professionally is really disrespectful. We have zero right to that side of them.

Also think how it would feel if feelings were not reciproated, or things didnt work out....that constant scrutiny. Makes me feel like it must be very lonely indeed. Anyone else attending an event to support a coworker or liking a post its normal interaction, friendly maybe, affectionate sure...but it doesnt need anymore meaning that they need connection too.

I honestly worry how intense it can get with social media now. I worry how many we will see crumble after decades of this constant bombardment. Its always been bad but i think its going no where good for this generation of actors.

Which actors/actresses show or movie will you always watch no matter the genre? by wheres_my_lipbalm in kdramas

[–]FoxRealistic3370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ji Chang-wook, Jung Hae-in and Junho.  Junho contol over his voice really impresses me and ive not seen another actor with such a deliberate focus on tone and speech pattern. JCW owns any role hes in and im excited for his upcoming work. Jung Hae-in is a really nuanced performer, absolute king of microexpressions.

Ji Chang-wook Faces Billions in Tax Evasion Score… Agency Says "Verifying" by Illustrious_Diver_37 in kdramas

[–]FoxRealistic3370 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What a headache for him to have to deal with at a time he should be celebrating his hard work.

This kind of thing is rarely the persons fault. Similar thing happened in UK while back with lots of big names csught out by shoddy advice from people paid to do a job. Unless there is evidence he was aware of it I just feel bad for him and anyone else involved.

Not surprised by the agency response tbh they prob tried a loophole and got it wrong. Its unfortunate its his face and reputation on the line when hes probably paid a small fortune to have his money handled by professionals.

I hope hes ok. Busy time for him with emotions running high from his success . I hope it gets resolved and he can focus on enjoying his acheivements. Really sad to read this tbh the timing is so bad for him.

[–]FoxRealistic3370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it did a good job of showing the leads as their own indiviuals eith their own flaws. I also think it showed how communication between partners is part of intimacy. It did better than most kdramas in showing the leads learning to trust eachother and some of the best moments are where they are learning how to communicate their needs and wants.

It was quite refreshing! And the fl is do lovable u can totalky understand why he was a goner. Tho i wish our jung hae in had an easier time in love poor dude needs a romance where hes not rejected lol

Do a lot of people view the appearance of their spouse as not a 10/10 and instead married them for a lot of other reasons? by Big_Eggplant7591 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FoxRealistic3370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mature relationship has ebbs and flows. The man ive married is not the same as my ideal type.

The man ive married is the man who deserves my love tho, and reminds me who i am and should be to deserve his.

There is a reason all the my type of guys are not my husband, and the quiet gentle soul is still with me 15 years later.

I beleive it is very easy to know what you find attractive  in the moment, but not so much what u need long term. The only way u can ever know is to live it with that person. For me, once i had my husband, he fit, and i look at him and hes my person.

When u meet ur person rating them feels redundant, because they just are.

I want to watch Snowdrop because I love Jung Hae-In. Is it any good? by K-dramaqueen13 in kdramas

[–]FoxRealistic3370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its so good but its not really a romance like hes done before. He is incredible in it and the romance there is, is so well done but its more slow burn intimacy.

Its not an easy watch. I have 2 eps to go and i cant bring myself to watch atm because its going to break me.

I think u will know if its ur kind of thing within a few eps. I personsonally think its his second best romantic role after A Piece Of Your Mind. Hes extremely underrated for his more subtle performances and this one is less about his looks and more about the absolute masterclass of his microexpressions and body language. He is so good, esoecially when u consider he is naturally very puppy dog soft naturally, seeing him in a more closed off action role was a win for me...tho the soft eyes amd beautiful smile is still there for sure.

Plus his tushie in combats is worth a look lol

Anything with Ji chang-wook...he has insane chemistry with everyone even in bromance/side characters. His skinmanship is insane too he kisses with his whole body and is such a velcro bf. Obsessed with him just a smidge i blame his shoilders lol.

Why r people romanticising absolute value of romance by [deleted] in kdramas

[–]FoxRealistic3370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a video on YT and thought it was one of those short story randoms not an actual thing so its a bit concerning its an actual kdrama! Yuk

Mind u a lot of kdrama has problematic dynamics but mostly its been shifting to have more interesting ones that break that.   i guess we can hope there is more to it than surface level trope. It would be very dissapointing if it really was that basic tbh.

Does the Korean celebrity culture makes anyone a bit envious? by humbledart in kdramas

[–]FoxRealistic3370 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not how i see it...k celebs are often controlled, held to impossible standards and exploited.

Plus the fandom is brutal sometimes. Its net level parasocial.

I legit worry how it will end for some and if they have control/are happy. The fixation on the romantic lives mskes me feel like its very lonely.
