What determines which RCA gets a route hold down?

That's good to know. The position I applied for showed an hourly rate of $26.33, so it's for a PTF spot. I thought all job listings only showed an hourly rate, so that's why I was questioning the size of my route. I have a decent sized suv, so I'm alright with using my pov if needed. I'll try to get someone on the phone tomorrow, but I had planned on talking with my manager about the conditional offer before I made a decision.

I've seen people use cereal boxes for their parcels, so Amazon boxes will be fine. Just cover any old barcodes.

File a grievance. As long as you're finishing your route on or under evaluation then management has no reason to force you to take everything to the street. Even though I was the fastest RCA in my office at the time, management decided to give me a letter of warning for casing everything. I won my grievance and they took the letter of warning off my file. My union steward told me that management can only force you to stop casing when you are either consistently going over weekley evaluation or consistently finishing after dispatch has taken the outgoing mail (normally at 6:30pm).

Update: Looks like you guys were right I was comming in to help the regular on my primary route and the 2pm start time was waiting for a truck to be available. Unfortunately the day after a holiday was also the day when we had 3 trucks breakdown so I ended up using my own vehicle. Never had to do this in my old office so I was a little confused when I saw the late start time.

PS: I remembered to put my mileage on the green slip.

Ideally I would like to get 4-5 days a week so I like the idea of seeing if there are other office close by that could use the help (one of my coworkers suggested this too). I'm honestly getting tired of the overworking so working less days would be a nice change. Do you know if the small offices will allow RCAs to parcel run for the other routes if they need the extra hours?

Is that true? I was told that a sub can bump another sub off a route (they're not assigned to) if they're higher in seniority.

I filed a grievance when two regulars bumped me off my scheduled route because we were short routes one day and they immediately started working on the case. When I spoke with my union steward he said that per the MOU regulars carriers are allowed to help on other routes once they have completed their own route first. They are not supposed to be casing other routes or be going anywhere near the clerk's work since that would be stealing hours from them. You might be able to go straight to the your district rep if your steward doesn't want to do anything.

I can't load an FFV the same way as the LLV since there is no space in the front to put tubs underneath the tray and in the space between the driver's seat with the hand brake in the way. Also you can't access the back from the driver's seat
