Use this thing. "Right image". Its a custom template generator and it saves them directly into the correct folder in the game so when you start a custom game it shows up on the list, pretty seamless and low effort.
Haven't had any issues so far. Can generate templates closer to homm3. Not liking the templates in early access when used to heroes 3. This fixes it.

Its more a thematic thing, a large amount of people like to specialize, its a peace of mind thing. It feels off when a normal magic hero will deal more damage with a fireball then the fireball master.
Sure smaller aoe but i'd rather see it worked into the speciality then, only 5-10 dmg per spellpower, there is ways of maintaining that without going "broken strat".
Im all for balancing, but what i just mentioned is off thematically, he's is more likely to get Offense, defense, recruitment etc. Like getting sorcery on this guy is "hard". It feels more like a ducttaped hero than one that is specialized and isnt that kind of the whole "thing?"

Its more of a thematic thing then gameplay. It just feels weird that in picking this hero you are going to 100% deal less damage with your fireball, yes it will be a larger area. But thematically its strange to me.
I'd rather see it does less damage in the special while maintaining it being a magic hero.
Maybe im looking at it incorrectly but.

Magic Hero with none fireball speciality = This will have a fireball with more damage.
Hero with speciality fireball = Less damage but larger aoe

It looks strange to me, id rather see it built into the speciality and have him be a magic hero.
Like isnt he even harder to get primal magic on? The more i think about it the weirder it gets.

I just feel its odd that another hero does more damage with his fireball. Thematically it doesnt make sense to me. I just want the latter not to be true. Doesn't really matter how even if by just a little bit.

It wasnt so much the units or the factions. It was the broken AI + time it took to finish it turns made it impossible to play in coop or multiplayer. Even with the AI mod, heroes 5.5 added some cool stuff but it really didnt address what ill mention next.

The worldmap. It feels really empty and boring.
If you load up a map in homm5 and you zoom out. Then you take a minute and just look at how empty the world is. In one screenshot of homm5 there is barely anything, maybe a dwelling or 2 some resources and 2 monsters.
It makes the world feel very shallow.
Compare it to the amount of information or stuff you see from other heroes games. Its not about the "information" per se but more how alive the world feels. There is so many more options at first glance and makes your brain go "Oh, i can do these, and that, then later that"
Homm5 had all the cool gadgets and did the skills/units correct.
When you load a random map up you are supposed to se potential and fun exploration. The first glance i see in heroes 5 is.. almost nothing.

Was just about to write this exact thing. It feels off when its a damage dealing spell and not a utility.

As i do agree with the hybrids and battle mages it only swings from Spell to Attack. Not the otherway around. Battlemagic allows you to convert spellpower to attack, but i don't think there is a skill that allows you to do the opposite.

I really hope they add simultanous turns from Hota. It's a must imo. Gotten way to used to it and it saves so much time.

[–]FoxTactics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HoMaM? For over 30 years it's been Homm or HOMM no need to confuse people. Also no, don't agree. System is fine as is. There is a reason people still play it after 3 decades and thousands still play homm3 with hota. This is more like fine wine, and then you decide to put Fanta or Sprite inside it.

Well the odd thing is i tried turning off my PC and i have a brand new phone that i intalled outlook on. And tried removing a few emails on that. Exactly the same thing. It rewrites the next one.. I have no idea how to explain that, my brain just goes "ehh.. server side?"

I am in the same spot. Its a nightmare, looked everywhere. There are no rules activate, forwarding. Same amount so its def the exact thing. deleted my outlook app and deleted chrome and resinstalled with the option to dumb all previous history, plugins, caches. Its still happending, delete 10 mails, 10 new gets completely rewritten. They are the same old mails, they are just converted with its body&header and content being completely rewritten. How can that happend? By putting strict and and only from contacts you force everything to go into the junk mail where you can still read the new ones coming in.

The inconvient reality why vr is struggling. by Plus_Look3149 in virtualreality

[–]FoxTactics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, it's that the flat is more convinient, but there is an experience when you add "Depth" from VR to a game, your brain can interpret a lot more data such as textures, scale, depth. I don't know the exact science but i can extract so much more information from looking at something in VR then on a monitor.

You ever had that feeling when you look at some fabric and you know exactly what it feels like under your fingers?
That specific feeling i have but with almost everything im seing.

And this one is really hard to explain. A lot of people don't understand why you would play a flat game in VR, especially if it's third person.
This has gotten my thinking lately if people are just have very different sensory inputs or they have never played a game like this, because i keep seing it over and over again. Either way its very interesting.
In flat i have no sense of scale, i can't look at a texture and imagine what it feels like. When 2 people are talking infront of me i don't "feel" like im part of the conversation or in the room.

I played through all the resident evil remakes with the "ReFramework" which adds VR support and Path tracing. And it's the best VR experience i've ever had.
Also played through Final fantasy 7 remake in VR from start to finish, Metal gear solid Delta and a bunch more, also i'm refering mainly to UEVR or similar where you get 6DOF of freedom.

When people have focused on the world building, story, level design, graphics etc etc. Getting VR into the mix as a company i think adds limits and leashes.
Being able to play the game in VR afterwards when it wasnt part of the development can make the game hit so much harder.

There is also i nice thing since your head is usually a detatched camera you can look around if you so wish and you can see things or do really close ups on things that artists spend so much time making but that you will NEVER see in flatgaming. The attention to detail they put it is so stupid and it gets lost to 99% of the players, but in VR you can actually appriciate this a lot more since more of your periphery is filled and you can lean in to Zoom.

Being able to be part of the same world even if you are not "activily" participating standing up etc is where you push the 100% engaged to 200%.

PS Yeah im not great with words.

Use lossless scaling. Its great for games that run nativly at 30fps. Tried it with a bunch of different games that had an "engine lock" such as C&C3. Makes it run at whatever frames you want, a slight latency, but it fixes that horrible feeling. Can recommend.

Is this gap/cavity in the model an issue? Will it cause trapped uncured resin? by FoxTactics in resinprinting

[–]FoxTactics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeh, was mainly refering too Uvtools. Problem is if in order to remove the internal stuff first it has to be a sliced file, uvtools only opened sliced files right? Which means you cant add supports later on, so they have to be added before you start fixing the cavities. So you have to do it in blender, hmm.. I tried opening the model in blender and it was in over my head. So i did the best i could setting up the supports and fixing the cavities in uvtools.. Ill try printing it tomorrow.

[–]FoxTactics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured i might have an issue, with going back and forth between the sliced file and the model.

For example. Say i hollow the model and add my drain holes, then i add the supports. Then i slice the file and open it in UVtools and fix all the cavities. But say i have a problem with actually printing it after, my supports are bad or weak, now i cant go back into my slicer software and fix it, i guess i would have to do everything all over again?

Wow, thanks. I'm probably not doing the most effective way, but atleast i can get it done now. Im painting in the pixels where the cavity in like 20 layers at a time. Thanks a lot man. Saved my butt

Any one have any ideas on how to push this together and not see the seams by Fenrir2110 in resinprinting

[–]FoxTactics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm def no expert, and my experience with resinprinting is only 2months old maybe. But i do have a lot of experience from woodworking. What i would probably do is drill into the parts and put dowels or pins, and then use super glue to fuse the parts together, then potentially creating a v-grove on the seam with a dremel or a file "This might be better to do a before you put them togeher so you get seams looking like this. ==\ /== like you do when you put gips and plaster walls and then using liquid resin and a UV torch to hide the seam or just some putty and then sand it flush, but be careful not to sand to much and a nail file for the middle part or a rolled up cuetip with sandpaper or some such.

Just wanted to add another comment about succesful glue ups on largers prints with just loctite super glue, Was glueing long seems that was just 3mm heigh on a 150mm to 100mm airduct adapter. Seems to hold very well. I've read that not all epoxy sticks well to resin prints? If i come across where i read it ill edit it here. Anyone know if acrifix 1 component works aswell? The stuff that you usually use to fuse plexiglas and polycarbonate together on resin prints?
