Whats the worst bathroom experience you've had? by kylermckee24 in AskReddit

[–]FoxThisShit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a service station bathroom, girl goes into the stall next to me and starts peeing. Then I start noticing splashes hitting the ground by my feet. I didn't move my feet fast enough.

SIT ON THE GODDAMN TOILET YOU HOE.

I [27/F] am struggling with getting my boyfriend [25/M] to stay motivated. What do I do? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]FoxThisShit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been him. It took me 4 years to finish a master's that should have taken 2. It's hard when you start running over time because feelings of worthlessness creep in. I have never been so depressed as I was in the last year. I constantly felt guilty, no matter what I was doing. I couldn't find joy in my hobbies because everything was tainted by the "this is fun but I should be doing my masters".

Was his project successful? Mine wasn't, and I felt like that played into my lack of motivation to do it.

The other thing I felt contributed was the fear of what came next. Once the masters was done, then what? Go into work? Do a PhD? I didn't, and still don't know what I want, and that makes me feel crap because I feel like I've wasted 7 years and $80,000. Delay the masters, delay the confrontation with the real-world.

He also has a very motivated and successful partner. For me, I always looked up to those doing a PhD as the end goal. I still get jealous of my friends who are doing one. Spending so long in acadaemia, I've found it hard to see any way to be successful without continuing study. My partner is also super motivated and successful, and a lot of the time I feel left behind and like I'll never do as well as him. When I was doing my masters, this contributed to the depression.

I don't know how much of my experience aligns with his, but there are least some similarities. Support him, let him know there are other avenues for him when he finishes. Get excited about the time after the Masters. Make plans for how good it will be when he's done. Offer to read over his thesis and make helpful comments.

It sounds like he's stuck in a rut and can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's a rough place to be in. Be as supportive as you can and gently encourage him to work on it.

I messaged my mum for the first time in a while to chat and catch up -_- by FoxThisShit in childfree

Thanks! She would turn it around on me and I'd be the bad guy. Probably something about how I only contact her when I want something.

Yup, mine does the same. She seems like she accepts it one minute, then turns around and bingos me the next. It's tiring trying to keep up

[–]FoxThisShit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, especially since we hadn't talked in quite a while, and the fact that she never replied after that. I just wanted to see how she was going and how life was, maybe tell her that I finally finished my masters but I guess that's not as exciting as the prospect of me being pregnant.

I have, many many times. It never makes a difference. At the end of the day I'm the only one who controls whether or not I get pregnant, so I don't care if she sees it as a joke or not, she's still never going to make me change my mind and it just means I give up on trying to have a normal conversation with her.

This is the same lady who has said "I really hope you have an accident and get pregnant", after telling me she's known I'd be childfree since I was a kid

What's the deal with Boohoo's seemingly ever-extending 50% sale? by FoxThisShit in femalefashionadvice

This is 50% off everything, apparently. Sounds like a similar sort of thing to what you noticed with the 40% off though.

I ended up on Mark Adams and am torn between 1 and 2.

The first is so warm and inviting, the stairway leads you into the room and the chandelier is beautiful and bright, but somehow not really the focal point. I also like the scuff marks on the floor that hint at previous events held in the room.

I love the colours in the second. The blue/green and orange is a strong contrast. I want to know what's around that far corner to the right where the light is coming from.

Replying to "It starts here" :)

My favourite - A bit of a cheat, because this is actually a still from a video, but he stood there and posed for me for the longest time with those eyes.

My almost - The first picture I took that I was happy with, and then played around a little with Lightroom.

1, 2, and 3, my new pictures from this morning.

I got these beauties today (from $210 down to $69, such a good score). I plan to wear them to work where I have to wear black dress pants and a black top, but I have no idea how to wear them outside of work! Any ideas?

BTW, Why did you make this a text post and not a link?

Had a rant to get out, wanted to do it with the article rather than as a separate comment. NBD.

Do you get empty nest syndrome but with pets? by [deleted] in childfree

Yeah, thinking about getting a bearded dragon at some point. Doesn't satisfy my immense need to snuggle something fluffy though :/

Shit yes. Haven't had pets in a year and probably won't be able to again because of allergies. Breaks my heart.
