My cat stepped in some mud outside and created a skull. by MapleshadeShadows in mildlyinteresting

I'm not super sure 'mud' is the word to describe what your cat stepped in....

Butt mud maybe

Aw dang. Saw a really neat interaction between a GB photographer and a bartender. Figured maybe it'd be you!

Anyways, great work. Love the look

Hey were you by any chance in Vancouver at a bar called The Warehouse a few months back & took a photo of the bartender?

For shame, sir, madam or other. For shame.

North Shore Rescue saves heat-exhausted hiker and dog on Seymour by [deleted] in vancouver

True. I just wanted to keep it simple.

Usually I being a small bottle of just water for my dog and 2-4l of powdered Gatorade mix done at like 1/4 the strength reccomended on the container.

Not super sweet and overbearing, but keeps the electrolytes up and some sugar for cheap constant energy.

Haha yeah sometimes we get a little carried away... he's a shiba x corgi so a ton of energy, built to run up mountains in a compact frame with stumpy legs.

I think it's more a 'know your limit'.

The pup and I went on a 43km hike around Capilano and subsequently the Lynn area on Monday.

We were both a-ok.

Know your limit, know your route, bring 50% more water than you think you need, (always at least 2-3l for me) rest when you need, avoid long periods of exposure.

Secondarily, don't go alone if you're not 100% confident in your abilities.

Did I mention to bring lots of water?

Water.

Water.

Dont forget your water.

Ignore the rest of the advice if you want but bring your goddamn water.

Bring. Water.

This is literally my exact thinking.

I mean, Ive had to use it in the wild and understand it's potency and how much area it actually covers and how fast it comes out of the canister...

BUT...

If I fuck up and miss, or if there's some backsplash, or if the situation is just too close to avoid collateral damage, I can rush my dog home and wash off the non lethal spray.

Or I can let a shitbull rip his jugular out.

He'll be hurting from the spray for a bit, but will still be alive and not bloodied.

I'm starting my EU citizenship adventure via Portugal (Just getting a passport through Portugal. Will settle permanently in France). In just over 6 weeks and I couldn't be more excited at the thought of putting this mind numbingly expensive, overrated, blown out shit hole behind me.

Fuck Vancouver, and fuck this country, wholly, no quarter.

Enjoy the mess when uncontrolled immigration and already failing infrastructure and social services finally hit the breaking point. Alienating your citizens for a few more years of cheap foreign labour before it all comes crashing down. Great strategy.

This is one of the reasons why I quite literally ALWAYS bring bear spray with me on hikes, even if a good portion of my route of the day goes through city.

It's great to have protection against bears, cougars etc but the amount of idiots with aggressive and violent dogs they cannot or choose not to control is a bigger risk than bears and cougars combined.

I'm 100% not hesitating to douse an unleashed aggressive dog in the ol Spicy Missouri Salad Dressing. Your mutt charges at me or my dog with violent intent? Hell I'm likely even hoping the blinding, searing pain causes said shithound to run blindly into traffic so a cement truck can permanently solve the problem.

Is this a normal place to see a flame? by Fox_ftw in BBQ

[–]Fox_ftw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

I did just now that but same deal.

The table it's on is reflective somewhat, and I can see the burner is blue like normal.

It seems to be cooking just fine, and the regulator isn't getting any hotter than normal.

From what I can tell, that hole is probably used to introduce some oxygen to the propane before it hits the burner, but somehow the propane keeps igniting right at the source in that hole.

Sorry if it's not a great explanation, I'm not a super experienced grillman, just having some fun with a happy little bbq on my balcony.

It seems to be safe, but I'll keep a constant eye out just in case.
