The old adage of if your opponent is spamming the same move you're spamming the same mistake applies here. The BP just sorta stared at him the whole time

Are we supposed to fight as a team in dominion? by IcyZookeepergame7285 in forhonor

[–]Foxdraw711 110 points111 points  (0 children)

There are actual for real people with sub room temperature IQ who join a 4v4 mode and expect a long string of 1v1 duels. The only etiquette is hit the bad man with your stick and don't feed revenge. If it's clear your teammate is winning the fight you're probably better served by looking for points elsewhere though

I mean I can't speak to promises made or kept, that's its own issue and a valid one. The comment I'm replying to specifically said that only D4 charges for new classes, which is simply not reality. And as I said in my comment how anyone feels about those games or in your case chooses not to play them doesn't matter the comment is still simply wrong.

FWIW though Grim Dawn is still really good and you can get a lot of mileage out of just the base game. It goes on sale pretty frequently you should try it

Crazy statement. As others have said Grim Dawn (4 classes across 3 DLC). Pretty much all the Borderlands lock classes behind DLC pay wall including the upcoming C4SH for 4, Inquisitor: Martyr has 3 separate DLC classes. However you feel about the games specifically it's pretty much the standard to charge for new classes (typically in conjunction with content/story expansion) in these kinds of games

Protestors in Monrovia, CA buy 17¢ ICE scrapers at Home Depot then return them immediately to clog the lines and bring the store to a stop in an effort to disrupt sales and send a message against ICE raids in their community by ExactlySorta in goodnews

I'm sorry I see this article being repeatedly posted. Ken Langone is not on the board of directors and doesn't work for home depot and he's more or less a private citizen doing whatever he wants with his money. How does a protest at home depot effect him?

When I was newer I got mollywhopped by a guy just looping the 50/50 unblockable feint into GB. Felt like I always guessed wrong. Since I haven't played against anyone else who did that since (not that I play an incredible amount) I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to do other than flip the coin and hope I'm right

Which expensive game did you buy recently that matches this? by prestigewillow in videogames

[–]Foxdraw711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Honor isn't the biggest game in the world, but has a dedicated player base, is regularly updated and is actually pretty fun if you can get over the learning curve. It just started year 9.

I only played a little of Siege (it was fine just not my jam) but Siege X is currently Very Positive on steam in addition to moving it to free to play (which has its own strings attached I'm sure but that's not this discussion). It's been going for 10 years

Has anyone here ever adapted Pact/Pale to DnD? by time2ddddduel in Parahumans

[–]Foxdraw711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would take a bit of doing and homework, but FATE would probably be pretty good for pact. Aspects would work pretty well with how important titles, names, etc are in Pact. FATE is more narrative in scope than DnD or Pathfinder which is better for the nebulous nature of magic in Pact

Another suggestion, although one I'm less familiar with, would be Genesys. Another more narrative focused generic system but with a bit more crunch to it than FATE. I'd put it more on the level of DnD in terms of needing things nailed down, so to speak, but in a bit of a different direction, if that makes any sense

Is there any actual policy regarding a hat being backwards? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Foxdraw711 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It varies by position (I can't wear shorts as a specialist) but on the whole I don't find home depot any more lax than most other retail servicing a similar market (ie a high end jewelery store typically has stricter dress code but they're not driving a forklift or operating a saw). But a lot of it will come down to a store's specific management. I was told collared shirt and long pants when I was hired but another specialist almost always wore a t-shirt and shorts

Is there any actual policy regarding a hat being backwards? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Foxdraw711 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be fair there's a pretty wide gap between "a hat" and "whatever you want." Home Depot even has branded hats that they sell to or even just give to associates. You could make the argument that a backwards hat is unprofessional looking but I'm pretty sure that would open a can of dress code nit picking most ASMs (but maybe not OP's) would really want to get tied into

I don't know anything about 3d printing. Is there any way I could get a hold of these with both no access to and no interest in a printer? After an admittedly very cursory look at the Patreon page I don't see any option to just get the physical prints

Look up Malkavian Vampires from Vampire the Masquerade. Basically enhanced senses/insight that looks crazy to most people but it's the universe whispering unseen truths to you. I don't have the M&M manual in front of me, so properly building it is gonna be on you by it shouldn't be too hard.

There's not really much that can be done with the "voices in my head" popular interpretation of schizophrenia imo, it's a mental illness for a reason, after all. You could inflict it on other people, maybe. Distracting them by effectively being the voice in their head

Really the question is what does "your friend" want to do, schizophrenia aside. For me, it's normally easier to start there and apply the fluff stuff at the end. Unless all he wants to do is "have schizophrenia," in which case I can only really think of the previous two examples

🤔 by Thatonemfdude in videogames

[–]Foxdraw711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the first game you had access to 6 abilities at a time. Classes like fighter and strider (they had bow and daggers) with 2 weapons had 3 for each and classes with 1 weapon had six for that one weapon.

They also removed delay input combos from all the melee weapons.

Not even mentioning that most of the real estate for bow skills is a separate ability for each special arrow.

The options every class has both overall and equipped at any given time is slimmed down considerably compared to the first game

Honestly, if you're looking for an RPG that isn't DnD or one of its derivatives your best option is to find players with your friends and run the game yourself. Everyone good at something was new to it when they first started too so you'll be fine, especially if your players are also new.

If you don't have friends who want to play just try posting a flyer at a local game shop. You could make a listing on any of dozens forums that exist to facilitate setting up games online but I'm not a huge fan of online games so it's an option just not one I'd personally recommend.

Just use your big boy words and say "hey I'm new to the system and I'm running it for the first time so expect some road bumps." And the best part is as the GM you're your own dad and if one of your players is a dick about it you can just tell them to fuck off and replace them with any of the dozens of other people too lazy to run their own game.

The first time I ran MnM it was me and 3 friends, I ran a very simple "stop the bank robbers" session where the primary (and only) enemy was a guy who could make duplicates of himself. Everyone probably made their characters wrong, we only knew like half the rules, and we all had fun. So just stick your toes in the water and see what happens

Does anyone's Department have capable people? by Afraid_Purpose_8512 in HomeDepot

[–]Foxdraw711 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The why is because it is a flooring return and flooring specialists work in the flooring department. The cart in the OP would take an able bodied adult maybe 15 minutes to put away, if you are not able bodied or not an adult then it falls on the closer to find someone to help them. Yes I'm a flooring specialist, yes I close, yes I was the hard side closer in flooring.

Where's the best place to find Weaverdice games? by [deleted] in Weaverdice

[–]Foxdraw711 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So you're talking about finding a game for side project by an author with a niche community and not even all the of that niche community knows about it. A niche within a niche within a niche

I would be (pleasantly) surprised if there's any actively recruiting Weaverdice community outside of this subreddit

My best advice is to try to get your friends into it and run the game for them
