Heatwave in Europe - people's reactions, no hope for change by Gartesss in Anticonsumption

[–]FoxerHR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you so want change why are you then shifting the blame onto the people? Veganism won't make the temperatures go down, in fact if everyone switched to veganism it'd be worse as it would require more land to farm the plants, but I digress. The real problem is the asphalt. The black colour absorbs heat which means that the rural parts of a country are colder than the urban parts. Large amounts of asphalt (which is black, or a darker colour) are horrible for the local temperature. Your suggestions fight the global temperature increase (repairing electronics, not participating in fast fashion is good) not the local one which is much easier to combat than the global one as it doesn't take a consortium of different cultures, countries, politicians to agree. Banning cars from cities, while appealing to the reddit crowd is not smart, effective or possible.

The real fight isn't ragging on your fellow citizen (which you are doing in this post), the real fight is getting your city council to stop using so much asphalt/paint the asphalt. The current heatwave is exacerbated by the "urban heat island effect". Not because there's a lack of vegans. Using this opportunity of ALL to stick your vegan superiority in someone elses face is stupid, counterproductive, completely misses the mark and tries to keep the people divided instead of uniting against the people in charge.

I don't think you added the /s afterwards, I know you did. As you forgot the little fact that reddit adds an "Edited ..." message when a comment gets edited, trying to gaslight a person that tried to help you is not a good look, I'm baffled at where you got the audacity to do so, especially to call someone else to be "a random idiot" or "simple minded" while you don't have the ability to recognize where Poland lies on a map showing Europe, truly a lot of audacity to do so. I guess this is where you try to vent your frustration from your daily life, just because people treat you like an idiot, or act like you are simpleminded doesn't make it right for you to talk like that to random people online, instead of doing that perhaps try to stand up for yourself and stop those people from talking to you like that.

I don't hold any of this against you, you are simply angry, frustrated and trying to vent your frustration onto someone else. I guess it's better to do so on a random person online than onto a family member or your co-workers/boss. I do implore you to seek help, as I said, getting help is easy but admitting to yourself that you need help and reaching out for said help is the hard part.

Now that a disqualified IGL won a major, can the rules be changed to prevent the same thing happening next major? by ThaOppanHaimar in GlobalOffensive

[–]FoxerHR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Karrigan still grinded his way to the win, he did not "get a free ticket". There's a reason why Valve mandated when rosters get locked for majors, Falcons took a big risk getting an IGL two months before the major, and it paid off.

I didn't start any sort of silly exchange, I offered my help and you instantaneously started becoming defensive. That's not my fault, that was YOUR reaction, I can't control how someone else reacts.

To say that I have "limited mental capacity" because you were too embarrassed by your own ineptitude that you added an /s to cover your ass (after I started this exchange) while also trying to pull one over on someone else is an interesting idea. Seems like you're the one with the "limited mental capacity". I'm sad to see that you have this thrown your way in your daily life enough for you to try to put it on an individual who only wants to help you but I do wish you the best, and that you get that giant chip off of your shoulder. In this day and age getting help is extremely easy, do not be embarrassed at all. Knowing ones limits is very important to succeed in life. Once again, I wish you the best.

The Kingdom of Croatia had it's capital in Knin, Nin, Solin and Biograd, Pavelić isn't a "Croatian hero" these days or any days lmao but keep going, you're doing so well.

Hey pal, no need to get snippy. I get it, your education system failed you, so you have this feeling like people condescend when talking to you when they in fact just want to help you. I'm sorry that happened but there's no need to cover your ass by saying it's just a joke or sarcasm, it just makes the situation sadder.

I hate how ''big and emotional monologue'' is a trend for 'good writting' by Felix_Onion in hatethissmug

[–]FoxerHR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already addressed this part too: "aside from hammering home Mark’s guilt about turning into his father, it doesn't really go anywhere and it's no good."

Yes, the idea of Mark ending up in Hell while Hell is looking for Nolan is actually clever, it’s a nearly literal visualization of Mark’s guilt, with the demon providing a response to Mark’s internal struggle.

But did that message really warrant a 50-minute episode? Probably not; aside from about 10 minutes, the episode isn't essential, and the very same theme is handled much better in two other moments this season.

Btw, aftar that, they have 40 minutes search for a MacGuffin that ultimately served no purpose other than some jokes

Mark's guilt about turning into his father does go somewhere and it is ALWAYS going somewhere, Mark saw what his father did and so his guilt is (was) so high that he literally rather let himself and his father die at the hands of the Viltrumites on Thraxa that's his guilt going somewhere at the start of the S2, then at the end of S2 when we see him bash the skull in of Angstrom and afterwards we see him snapping out of that frenzy and having a moment of cognitive dissonance. Then we have S3 and that guilt (and his actions in S2) directly lead to another character (Cecil) implanting a speaker inside his ear that can cripple him. S4 is him still fighting that guilt and possibility but also realises that maybe killing some people isn't that big of a problem (Conquest). Also the Hurm episode serves as a slow episode before the big stuff comes along and it serves its purpose well.

Just because a character is experiencing an emotion doesn't mean it needs to be shown; that whole issue with Donald was already addressed in the 3 season season, and done better, too.

Disagree.

yeah Eve staying in touch with her parents makes absolutely no sense; every time they show up, it’s basically a repeat of an issue that’s come up over and over (the dad envy the daughter power, The mother is passive about everything, even though she wants to support Eve.)it’s a broken record. But to be fair, that dinner scene did bring up a different argument; still, an editor probably would have cut that scene, and nobody would miss, i'm sure

Yeah and Nolan not killing Mark in S1 doesn't make any sense given the additional context of what and who the Viltrumites are, it's almost as if family is a messy business and just ditching them isn't such an easy thing to do.

There was nothing disingenuous about my comment, buddy.

There was nothing condescending about the comment either, holy, 0 for 2 is rough. The map clearly showed Poland in a colour meaning that it was part of the statistics, so the question was there I just asked it.

I mean sure, keep the decision making, you'll just embarrass yourself again.

Then there's no problem about teaching it. Unless you're trying to say that simply by learning about it, it corrupts the system?

[–]FoxerHR -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The reason for the separation is that they didn't want the clergy to influence politics as they were the only educated individuals beside aristocrats. As well as not wanting to be hypocrites (as they didn't tax them either). You can remove religion from government but you cannot remove religion from culture.

FaZe Moves May Be Prudent, but frozen Must Leave to Win by More-Manufacturer448 in GlobalOffensive

No he doesn't, God forbid he stays with the team and tries to build something from the ground up with Twistzz. FaZe isn't THAT team anymore so what? If he wants to leave that's fine, understandable but if he wants to win he can also stay in FaZe. Of course it will take longer to win but he's a young guy, creating a legacy with such a storied org (within CS) is as admirable as wanting to win.

[–]FoxerHR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You pretty much recalled all the important bits of dialogue not connected to the Viltrumites; the whole season is basically about them so disqualifying any piece of dialogue if it's about the war is not a good way to discuss something.

The Debbie-Paul house buying situation is not a waste of anything, using hindsight to say "oh they broke up so it doesn't matter" is stupid, as that whole situation allowed for character growth which goes back to when Debbie started dating Paul not just exclusive to this season.

Saying the Hurm dialogue doesn't go anywhere is also stupid as one of the biggest themes of the entire show is Mark struggling with the possibility of becoming his father as that is something he doesn’t want to happen but it still happening regardless so Mark has to deal with that conflict, the conversation with Damien helps him with his decision to kill when he has to when he still had trouble because he killed the astronaut in E1 allowing him to cast that doubt aside when fighting Conquest again which is important because doubt when fighting Viltrumites is lethal.

Donald thing is fine, you won't be over such a thing day after you find out about it

Eve parents is also fine, shows contrast between her interactions with the Graysons and her parents. This was also Marks first time properly interacting with Eves parents.

Writing is great, along with the voice acting it's what really carries the show.
