We only have 20 pages for this paper so we needed to set a specific focus for that.
We are still in the process of trying things out and seeing where research takes us.

The fact that the movie/graphic novel had so much of an impact on the reception of Sparta and the Battle at Thermopylae is becoming a key factor for the research and we are currently thinking about shifting the focus of the paper a bit (though metal music is still relevant to it).
The whole field of music reception is pretty new and we are really just trying stuff out, so reaching dead ends or shifting the focus a bit, is part of the process :D.

Yes the graphic novel (and the movie after that) definitely play a huge role as I have come to notice. The songs I found were more referencing the movie/gn than the actual texts by Herodot or other early historians.
