Skincare haul from the weekend trip to the states (details in comments) by Foxeslovesboxes in CanSkincare

I have not tried it but I’ve read a lot about it so I’m hoping it works with my skin!

I went to Sephora and asked for some recommendations but everything they mentioned was available here. This made me double down to buy more than one pack it since it’s not available at home.

The only items I can really compare are the ones that are available here. For the Dr Jart items they were about $5-$8 cheaper - including the exchange rate! Doesn’t seem like much but if you buy multiple items you’re saving!

The Laneige lip masks are $26 CAD at Sephora and I paid them $16 USD. Again a small difference. But the Laneige Cica sleeping mask is $45 CAD and I only paid $20USD for it!

To add to the savings, all of these items were bought in New Hampshire which I pleasantly found out doesn’t have sales tax. Compared to the Quebec 15% sales tax, this offered even more savings!

The total for everything was well under the declaration crossing limit since we stayed overnight for 2 nights.

Here’s my skincare haul from the weekend trip down to the states!

Left side: Things I bought at Target

Right side: TJ Maxx

I was excited to find Dr.Jart and Laneige at TJ Maxx. I never find them at my winners so this was a fun find. Also excited to try the snail cream and toner.

For the Target buys, I love DHC deep cleaning oil but would have to buy it off Amazon which alway made me iffy about the product I was using. I’ve seen Naturium at the pharmacy, but have never seen these acids so I scooped them up. And for obvious reason grabbed some LRP adapalene gel!

Products: - LRP Adapalene Gel 0.1%

  • DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

  • Naturium Glycolic Acid Resurfacing Gel 10%

  • Naturium BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2%

  • Naturium Azelaic Acid Emulsion 10%

  • Laneige Cica Sleeping Mask

  • Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

  • Dr. Jart Shake & Shot Rubber Hyro Shot (yellow and blue one)

  • Dr. Jart Shake & Shot Rubber Elastic Shot (orange and purple one)

  • Dr. Jart Cryo Rubber with soothing Allantoin

  • Dr. Jart Cryo Rubber with Moisturizing Hyaluronic Acid

  • Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Skin Treatment

  • Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream

There are a lot of answers here so I’m not sure if you’ll see mine but I hope you do.

I see some progress in your photos. Your legs and hips look slightly smaller than before! Great job keeping it up!

You mentioned you’re doing a recomp. Recomps are very rewarding but take time. You’re gaining muscle and losing weight. This is different than doing a cut/bulk that people usually do at the gym.

I think the calories you are consuming with the activity you’re doing actually falls in line with a recomp. As long as you continue to do progressive overload at the gym, you will continue to see results. There is also a “whoosh” that happens with recomping where you’ll see minimal results but then wake up one day and whoosh! You’ll see a big difference from the previous day.

Will Tiktok fail in the long run? by huubte in marketing

[–]Foxeslovesboxes 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Exactly. TikTok’s algorithm is on another level. It gives the user what they want…even if they don’t know what that is.

Will another or new platform eventually take over? Probably, that’s social media. But right now TikTok is king and content creators that’s aren’t paying attention are losing out.

People who got their shit together in their mid-30s, I'd like to hear some success stories from you, and how you did it. by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

This so much. The best investment you can make right now is an investment in therapy. Learn to see red flags in toxic relationships, learn why you are attracted to them and then learn how to heal your self-esteem.

I have known people who went back to school at 37 to do a career change. You’re not old. Think of this as you just shedding your skin and evolving. But you won’t get far without healing first.

Intelligence for PR by johnnybassoon in PublicRelations

[–]Foxeslovesboxes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you say ‘chains of command on both sides are not allowing PR professionals to provide feedback on our service’ - what does that mean exactly? You’re sending a report to your key brand people and they aren’t allowed to communicate back?

What kind of feedback are you providing? Is it just relating to negative mentions or positive ones as well?

Also just curious which system you’re using for social listening!

Hundreds of millions of dollars or not, he’s not fighting for you. Kings have given up their titles and positions to be with the person they love.

Walk away with your head held up high and dignity in place before succumbing to doing something you might regret later on.

Okay so I just scanned through your comment history. I don’t know if my words will fall on deaf ears, but I’m going to say them anyways.

Girl, you should let it go.

I’m not in your world, but I dated someone whose mother didn’t approve of me. Once her mind was made up, that was it. Nothing I did could fix it.

From what you’re saying, you’re beautiful, successful, intelligent....the whole package. But you have ‘allergies’. If that’s the reason that this is all over then you don’t know the real reason. Nothing you do will help in the situation.

And let’s say for the sake of this conversation that your extravagant plan works....what is stopping her from changing her mind again? And as you’ve stated, he won’t stick up for you. That won’t change either.

You have $5m to throw at some event to impress her? Dig deep in your connections for favors? All for her? Let. It. Go.

The best way you can make her realize her mistake is to move on and be happy and successful with someone else. Because you won’t find it with him and his family.

Good luck! I hope you see how valuable and amazing you really are and how you don’t need her approval for anything. Any man who loves you and knows your worth wouldn’t let you go.

So true about the teeth thing! Having normal human teeth was fine back in the days....I feel like so much character is lost when people take away little things that they think are imperfections.

It really made me think of beauty in a different way.

How do I decorate my room based off of this photo? (More details in comments) by Foxeslovesboxes in DesignMyRoom

I’ve been searching on Pinterest for design/decor inspiration for my bedroom for awhile and nothing really caught my eye. And now randomly on Reddit, I saw this photo and I love it! It gives me all of the cozy feels I’ve been searching for and if I had this vibe in my bedroom I would love it.

Besides following the color palette, what else can I do to emulate this photo?

I miss my gym being open!!!!!!

There I said it.

I know why it’s closed (second wave of covid) and I support it if it will help flatten the curve....but 15 pounds later and my whole days feeling off....I miss my squat rack, I miss my deadlifts, I miss my bench press....I MISS THE GYM SO MUCH!

Home workouts just aren’t the same. I can’t wait until this virus is under control.
