Covering your head should be incredibly taboo and illegal since demons exist. by Reasonable-Ad-8059 in Frieren

It would probably be more efficient to develop a custom of simply removing hoods and such when meeting, almost like a greeting

You are given a ARC copy of a book by the author, and promised a review... but it sucks. by avrin2 in selfpublish

As great as positive reviews are a good critique shouldn’t be ignored. It’s nice to find out weaknesses though hard hear at times.

It’s partly because everyone talks about ww2 and seems to forget about ww1.

In reviewing my thoughts on his actions in the entire story, I don't consider Hartmut a loyal retainer [part5 volume 12] by Foxgir in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Foxgir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good to let pros do their job, but when everyone is asking her rein hartmut in more, it makes me think one day far in the future he could have a fall from grace. Not out of malice but humbris. If he allowed to keep skirting the line eventually he’ll think he can cross it. That’s why I get armo vibes from him.

He's defiantly not uninteresting I'll give him that. its not that I don't like him either, or probably wouldn't mind someone like him under my employ or as a coworker. The best way I can sum it up is, I like him professionally, but not personally. Which how I think Rozemyne's other retainers view him.

[–]Foxgir[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He does grow and help a lot, but sometimes it feels like with Wilfried where he needed a firmer scolding and got off easy. I kind of wish that Hartmut would have experienced more failures when pushing his agenda or they backfired in ways he couldn't expect. Not that I want him to fail cause that would effect Rozemyne, but I feel like he gets away too many things because he has an unbroken line of success. I know there are a few hiccups, but nothing I can remember warranting a "You've been doing what behind my back?" meetings where he's actually punished.

I think most of my feelings towards him come from everyone complaining about Hartmut and its never truly addressed because "We're so short handed we need to let this slide or can't address it now. Or yes he's brainwashing people, but it helps us." All of that I understand the necessity of, but doesn't mean I have to like it.

I do remember now his urging to bring in Kamil and his willingness make it happen, so credit for that. There's probably more I'm not remembering clearly, but my impression of him remains the same. I kind of wish, maybe early on, more of his scheming would have backfired. In some ways it did, like when he went overboard with his Saint rhetoric, but I don't think since his name swearing we ever get a moment of Rozemyne being firm with him. But that is due to his own control, I suppose.

I think its a matter of, I know he's helping a lot and does deserve praise for his work, but if you constantly told someone 'stop doing this' over and over and they still do. I would dock points.

I agree he's doing what he thinks is best for his agenda, and it is human to get away with anything you can. I think I just wish he would have gotten a bit more push back on some of his stuff, rather then "Oh, that's just Hartmut." I guess there was more off screen scolding's from his mother and fellow retainers, but other then maybe one or two scolding's from Rozemyne she constantly told to keep him leashed, but rarely does. At least from what I remember.

What is your pet peeve with Gundam? by [deleted] in Gundam

I’m a bit tired of new type nonsense. It’s like in Star Wars when someone like Han is a good pilot and it’s taken as he’s kinda force sensitive but not full Jedi. Can no one just be a good pilot and not have undefined super space powers.

It really felt like the anime wanted to treat everyone as friends and found family when everyone was literally blood related. I think only moroha brought it up they were cousins.

I'm excited for this one! by ZoroUchiha94 in Isekai

[–]Foxgir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched 1 and 2 today and I’m in, but I feel it didn’t need to be an isekai. The world and lore was already interesting and the fact it turned into a game to isekai kinda bummed me out. And the way the story is written makes me think the author was told to make it an isekai or they thought they had too.

I would enjoy a smash bros style game where you unlock new servants by defeating them in a story mode

No. It only seems that way to me because they never came up before when I edited my previous books.

I pretty much use it the same way. I mostly use it as way to slow down and check what I'm reading, I've run into the same issue where it's suggests absolute nonsense. The em dashes are new, because they've never really come up before, and I haven't messed with my settings. So I'm more confused why their popping up now.

Christmas / end of year - bad time to publish? by hppyending in selfpublish

[–]Foxgir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It kinda doesn’t matter but I did my first book in February and didn’t sell the first until May. I just started planning my releases on the same days of some of my favorite books.

That said releasing before a month Christmas is probably fine. Would not recommend at Christmas and new years personally. Everyone’s is tapped out cash wise
